Loved their food. Just dropped in as I was in a mood for some hoppers. Had Thalapath Fish curry with egg hoppers. Tasty, wholesome and surprisingly was suffient for me alone. Found some sweetness in their hoppers, which is why it tastes good. As you know anything with a lottle sweetness would be loved by any Sri Lankan and suits foreigners too. Would recommend this place to everyone. Considering the recent escalation in costs, I would say their pricing is ok. I paid Rs.3,400 including service charge and taxes.

If you are looking for authentic Sri Lankan food, you have come to the best place in town. Palmyrah restaurant at the Renuka City Hotel has a diverse menu, that covers all the major bases of unique Sri Lankan favorites. There are string hoppers, hoppers, rice & curry, Thosai, Kothu and Pittu. There is a superb selection of rice, curries, sambols and of course appetizers. In addition, there are mouthwatering desserts. I had the plain samba rice with crab meat curry, tempered ladies fingers (okra) with pol sambol. It was divine. My only suggestion is that the crab curry should be made with lump crab. To have small shredded pieces that are buried and overwhelmed by the thick gravy, destroys the experience. Therefore, what is lacking is texture and bite to truly savor this dish. Before anything came out, the house serves rassam in a Turkish coffee cup with pappadum. This combination is dynamite. The rassam is thick with a mix of strong flavors that really hit the spot. My complaint about the atmosphere is that it was very chilly where I was sitting (and cooling the food). I made numerous attempts to address the problem with the server and then with the manager. They toned down or even shut the air conditioner to only turn it back on. This on off cycle repeated many times during my lunch. The dining room filled up pretty soon. Judging from the crowd, service was fantastic. I will be tasting many more dishes and will post pictures as I go along.

We are staying in the hotel, we had already had the crepes for breakfast and a club sandwich twice while staying here at the pool, unfortunately we only came to the restaurant on our last night. Fabulous food full of flavour, would loved to have tried more food here. They gave us a free sample of Rasam, it was lovely with some chips. Forgot to take pictures of the main course. The sparkling wine was just a little too sweet. The staff were lovely

I recently dined at Palmyrah restaurant and wanted to share my feedback regarding my experience. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the crab curry I ordered. It seemed more like crab soup, with tiny minced crab pieces, and the taste left much to be desired. Nothing even close to the great Jaffna crab curry taste.
Additionally, I found it disheartening that the waiter discouraged me from choosing the curry with real crabs. This not only impacted my meal but also raised concerns about the service quality. As a patron, I believe it's essential to communicate when expectations fall short. Do not recommend this restaurant.

We ordered a variety of side dishes and sambols, along with string hoppers, coconut hoppers, beef poriyal, and the odiyal kool. We were brought the pal rasam and papadum as free sides.
Everything was so tasty, and fresh, the service was so friendly and fast, and the vibe was cosy, family friendly, and everyone in the room was clearly having a lovely leisurely meal.
I could not recommend this place more, and will definitely return if given the chance.
Additionally- mixed drinks are very reasonabley priced.

Good and clean. Food was too spicy but very good at the same time. Prices for Sri Lanka are high but worth it

Started with Odiyal Kool, a thick seafood soup thickened with odiyal flour. (One of Jaffna’s signs dishes)🍲
Then, savored Poricha Meen Puttu (fried fish puttu) paired with Kanavai Pirattal (cuttlefish) & Prawn Curry. 🦑🍤
The Jaggery Hoppers & Milk Hoppers were show stoppers!
