Astor Grill

The place is so cozy and highly recommended it
If you go there ask for Mr Hassan the Tunisian guy to serve you, he is the best by all means with authentic advice

Very friendly people, very good food.

This is my third visit to Astor grill. I have visited many years ago. Compared to the last visit, the restaurant interior and ambience have changed. The atmosphere is not as nice as it used to be. It’s more gloomy and less inviting.
Service was good and friendly.
We ordered an aged wagyu tomahawk and it was very underwhelming. The taste was mild and it was not particularly as tender as you would expect from a wagyu beef.
My wife ordered a US angus ribeye and it was good but nothing exceptional.
Side dishes including baked potato and Mac and cheese were good. The mushrooms were very average, the creamed spinach was very watery and not acceptable.
The Cesar salad, beef tartar, seafood chowder were all very good and enjoyable indeed.
All in all, the ambience and place feel is not as it used to be, steaks are not as special as the price suggests. Appetizers, salads and some sides were good.
For the steep price range, there are other steakhouses in Qatar that are more worthy of a visit.

Astor Grill is a must for all you meat lovers in Doha. The quality of food served here is exceptional and accompanied with excellent service. I highly recommend the Thursday night "Midnight Brunch"

I wasn’t going to write this review until I experienced a similar rude episode at Lemon Garden D2. While visiting Astor grill, things went relatively well up until getting the bill. The porterhouse steak was good, the Argentinian Angus and burger were edible. Things went downhill from there! My hotel stay came packaged with food and board options that the head waitress could not understand and she was trying to convince me that I was wrong even after showing met my booking. Then she made us wait for over 20 minutes until she got them through her head. After that, she proceeded to have her junior waitress Erin present me with the bill. The bill was still wrong; they charged me for an extra bottle of San Pelegríno 1 Liter bottle, I did not want to argue further and wanted to just get the hell out of there, so I proceeded to charge it to my room and left. The surprise came at checkout when I found out they had submitted a second receipt attempting again to charge me for the discounted items they took off the previous night. The front office staff were very understanding and removed the charge immediately. On top of the restaurant management being ignorant and argumentative with the client, they were very sleazy in attempting to slip the charge again. Always double check the bill at the restaurant and at checkout. Unfortunately, I would also recommend taking pictures of your receipts (not the sort of thing you would expect to need to do at a St. Regis).

Great steak though it didn't have the punch I expected for the price. Not sure which meat was selected given the different ones on display. Would have been nice to know. Great atmosphere

We went for a dinner. Live singing was really good and the lady was singing some really good numbers. The service is a little on a slower side but the starters and mains were really good. The cheese cake was awesome but the icecream was almost completely melted by the time it reaches us.
All is all a good experience.
