I have been going to Evolution for 3 years. I was talking to my stylist a bit loudly because the blow dryer was on. Kenneth, the owner, came over and said to keep it down and the whole salon could hear me. I was happily talking about my Daughters wedding. He embarrassed me like I was a child. I am 63 and have been to the best salons in N.Y.C and Paris. It’s a SALON…. Where you can chat and feel comfortable. I have been told that this salon has been not very friendly and now I know why

I was so tired of losing hours of precious time & money on hair that was only "good enough." SInce my stylist in North Jersey married and moved out of the country, I have bounced around salons and paid exhorbitant amounts of $ for so-so, not so good hair.
Then, my daughter recommended I see Katie at Evolution. I had Katie delicately add fine highlights to my red/gold hair. I am very particular about my hair. Not many people, regardless of years of experience, have been able to acheive the effect I like, yet when I left the salon that day I was absolutely thrilled with the results. Color, tone, placement, technique, sustainability, and individual or personal factors, all need consideration . It is rare a stylist has been able to acheive this. Katie did!

I come to this salon for all of my hair needs. Maggeeh is my regular stylist and she is the absolute best! She’s so friendly, efficient, and so, so, so talented. She’s done my haircuts, coloring, touch-ups, and even styled my wedding hair, and everything has always been absolutely perfect and exactly how I wanted it. 5 stars for Maggeeh, for the friendly team, and for the salon as a whole!
The girlies do not mess around, the staff here are so kind and professional and give off such good vibes. I’ve gone here twice and seen the same stylist, Maggeeh for a hair trial for a special event and then a haircut. She’s the best!! Girlie really took the time to listen to me, gave me hair care tips, and styled my hair exactly the way I wanted. She was open to feedback and really treated me well. Loved the scalp massage she does when washing my hair, it’s so relaxing :) Can’t wait to visit the salon and see her again for my next haircut. 100% put my trust/faith in her for all my hair goals.
Left a lot to be desired. Came here for an updo for a wedding and the stylist doing my hair refused to put in simple clip-in extensions because she "didn't have time", (they literally clip in in seconds) and then when I asked for volume on top, she never even bothered to attempt to tease my hair whatsoever. I have short and fine hair and most stylists are thankful that I have extensions which help them create a more volumized up-do.
She then blamed my thin and short hair when I mentioned the lack of volume.
She also didn't have small rubber elastics as the salon was "out" and had to use my own elastics which thankfully I had with me. I kept asking for volume, but none was added. There were pieces that looked super lumpy and awkward from the side that I kept asking her to pin back and she stuck a bunch of bobby pins in, but never actually pinned THAT area.
I was told when I booked the appointment the up-do was "$89 and up", but was then charged $109 for something that I honestly could have done at home, and to be frank, could have done a better job with. I ended up going home and having to fix my hair anyways.
My friend also got her hair done and spent $109 for a bun that was completed in less than 15 minutes.

They are fully stocked with supplies for all hair types. The salon is clean and has been kept up. The stylist is up to date with the latest hair trends. They do my hair and my daughters. She just layered, cut, thinned and blew out my daughters hair in these pictures.
