Wasan Brooklyn

The food here was pretty good. I loved the texture of the fish, the eel avocado roll was really good. Overall pretty filling. Except the fact that I didn’t order the eel avocado, I ordered shrimp tempura. The waiter was very nice about it and gave me a miso soup on the house. I ordered the uni as well and it was a little fishy but pretty good.

I really liked how clean and fresh it felt immediately when I came inside. I ordered the pork cutlet curry and the pork dumplings as an appetizer. The pork dumplings were decent. The server told me that I should eat them fast. However, even when they were cool they still tasted pretty bland. The curry was decent. I liked the taste of the sauce but the pork seemed to be a little tough and not entirely enjoyable to eat. Overall a decent authentic Japanese experience in Brooklyn if you’re looking for a good Japanese experience.

Legit, authentic, and damn good Japanese food! Lunch specials (11:30-4 everyday) are good value. They currently have (for a limited time) a special dessert (matcha pudding) in collaboration with a tea master, and it's excellent!

I come here with my 7 year old and they are consistently decent in every way. We usually get the black cod bento box; all of the sections are delicious. My daughter loves the shrimp tempura + sweet potato sushi rolls. They have chopsticks prepared for kids to use which makes it special. The lovely waitress that is always here when we come is superb. On the weekends we see many Asian families coming in with their small children as well. Recommend it!

Joshua exemplified kindness and genuine goodness as our waiter. Demonstrating a rare level of care, he braved the rain to return my credit card that I had inadvertently left behind at the restaurant. Immense gratitude to you, Joshua, for your act of kindness 🙏🏼

The ramen was delicious. The pork was tender and juicy, noodles were firm, and the broth was really rich in flavor. The sushi on the other hand was supposed to be spicy but actually wasn’t. It was crunchy though. They don’t make adjustments to the dishes (ie making something spicy). But the service is great.

Stopped here early, 11:30am, for a quick bite. Angelo, my server, provided perfect attention and suggested a special that included salad when I ordered 2 vegan rolls. Pumpkin and Avocado rolls were yummy and Angelo asked if he should inform the chef (Of course!). Love ordering sushi. It’s made to order and very fresh. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Lovely vegan 🌱 options.
