Longford Management

Super helpful and patient with us as we went through the process of leasing our first home. The house is awesome with an even better Management Team! Highly recommend working with Longford and specifically Wardell G if you’re interested in purchasing or leasing a home.

Longford is solid gold! The leasing agents Wardell and Rene went out of their way to make my experience awesome finding a great apartment. They were communicative, assuring, and helped me work through the process from application to approval. Longford's team is excellent and I recommend them to anyone looking for a new apaŕtment home in the DMV.

If you are a renter or owner looking at Longford Management, I've been a tenant of theirs for 3.5 years and am here to tell you to steer clear! I've been a renter in DC for over a decade and I've truly never seen such a disorganized, non-responsive, irresponsible, and, frankly, negligent operation. A few non-exhaustive examples include:
1) Three times in 2.5 years they have missed water bills to the point the water was almost shut off. They refuse to provide copies of the bills each month. (If you own a Longford property, note this is an issue if water is in your name!) In these cases, late fees were passed to me and then I had to struggle to get fees removed. Their accounting practices are completely unacceptable for any reputable company.
2) It took over 4 months to get a ceiling leak repaired. The repair happened and they painted the ceiling eventually, but no real repair/mold resolution/etc. occurred.
3) They "fixed" a rat burrow by placing mesh on a stair above ground level (the burrow was behind the stair... at ground level obviously). The issue was never resolved and there is still mesh (set with concrete!) above ground level for no reason while the rat burrow is still, well, on the ground (where rat burrows tend to be...)
4) I'm attaching photos of the way they dangerously placed stair treads without securing them and setting them down on a slick surface. Because of their complete and utter negligence, myself and a guest both fell down the stairs. Their lack of awareness of the safety of tenants is appalling. We were both very badly bruised from their negligence. The "temporary fix" has been the fix for over two months now. (see photos)
5) They frequently cancel requests for repairs because they don't read the portal carefully and get confused - you need to stay on them to do anything.
6) I recently had the pleasure of calling their emergency line - this is an answering service and not a emergency line. No one responded until the next day. If you have an emergency, good luck.
7) If you are an owner looking for property management, consider I've put in minor issues (like rusty steps) multiple times. I don't own the property of course, but if you think they care about the longevity of things around your house, I assure you they do not.

I know these reviews mention how great their leasing is, but read the reviews of tenants who actually need things done and do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from Longford Management.

This is not the first time that he has helped me, however I wanted to highlight him today because of an ongoing situation I have been experiencing. He took immediate action to rectify the situation and did not prolong a response. The quality of service he provided demonstrates the standard of care and attention that should be given to any customer.
