I visit this Supermarket (Admiraal de Ruijterweg 42, 1056GK Amsterdam) often to buy Bangladeshi HILSA fish 🐟 tiny market with variety of Indian spices and vegetables like Vindi Kerala Green Chilli 🌶 etc.
Price is little higher than Dutch Bangla Amstelveen but good if you stay at Amsterdam West.
[Note. Check the Invoice before you leave. Have seen people are complaining.]

Despite its relatively small size, the Himalayan Supermarket on Admiraal de Ruijterweg offers an astonishing assortment of very competively priced produce from India and Nepal.
Open daily from 9am till 10pm, this is a gourmets paradise with many offerings not generally available elsewhere such as the so-called Bombay Duck, a dried fish which is prepared by frying until crispy and served as an accompaniment to curries. Although featured on the menu of virtually every self respecting Indian restaurant in the UK, I have yet to encounter the same being offered in the Netherlands.
The store has a fantastic selection of spices and condiments, ready-made meals, fresh herbs and vegetables, including delectable ladies fingers, better known to some as okra.
There is an abundance of delicious sweets to choose from. The store even has its own Halal butchery specialising in goat and chicken.
From the moment you enter the premises, you are made to feel welcome, with staff going out of their way to be of assistance.
Truly, a delightful shopping experience.

A nice little grocery store with all that makes up a South Asian grocery weekly shopping list.

The store is located on the main street a few doors from the Aldi store (the aldi store as a reference point is required as they do have a brightly lit sign jutting out and easily visible), unfortunately the store sign is not entirely visible due to a retractable awning that covers the sign board (so literally there is nothing that you can see directly advertising the store).

Once you have found the store you are in for an amazing experience, you will find all the brands and things that would typically find in an Indian supermarket back home!

From different types of oils, daals, rice varieites (only a couple), to frozen parathas, Maggi, Wai-Wai! - you name it they have it.

The store does feel a bit disorderly and chaotic, but thats just the look and feel, in the small space they have they stock it up very well, for me its a weekly visit that suffices for all the groceries i need.

Thanks to the proprietors, a couple of Nepalis, who do a great job of running the store!

I live in Paris but when I visited Amsterdam I realized I could find a Nepalese store. And behold i found it. I took so many stuff cause I hardly get to find food from my home country and I was so happy. Also it's a family owned business and are super Friendly.

After shopping here for a while, it so nice to see kind and nice people who run this shop, even in these hard times. They are genuinely good people and I see them doing there best to keep the store clean and safe for shoppers.
I'm happy to support such great business in our community. ^_^ Definitely recommend to friends who are looking to make Indian/Nepali food at home. They have most of the ingredients you may need and are helping if you need to find something. One time, the gentleman was so kind to help me find a proper pressure cooker for my needs and they have in stock many different spices/curry flavors you may need. 5/5.

I know this store for a very long time. It used to be run by others. Already for quite a while it has been run by a Nepali family. They are super friendly and helpful. They recently remodeled the store and have included many new products. It is a one stop store for all things Indian. The family always chats with you personally like in the good old days. They make you feel welcome. A big asset in these times.
