Small but very good and varied supermarket. There is also multiple organic options available, staff is very approachable. I will suggest you go with a list so you don’t forget anything. Some days of the week you can find some special like sodas or natural drinks as orange juice or limonade juice. There is no parking so you will have to park around or paid parking.

Awesome fresh selection of fruits and vegetables. The corn from Goodale farms was great! There is a composting bin collection at this location every Sunday.

Three blocks of fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood better than anything you will find in a supermarket.

I like it. Not overwhelming like Prospect Park/Grand Army Plaza. You can find what you need. The apples are really delicious there. Fresh. Pastries (in particular scones) are there, pot pies, etc...Make sure you arrive by 11:30am the latest. 9- 10:30 (to me) are optimal times unless you want the discounted price (some stalls do this) then 1-2 pm is a good time.

Love this little greenmarket, grateful it is close to home. The selection of fresh produce is significantly smaller than the Saturday free market at Grand Army Plaza, but the vendors are friendly and carry a solid selection for specific items. The mushroom stand when present is amazing and caries a variety of harder to find fungi. The wine seller is friendly, hospitable and gives good recommendations for a discerning palate.

This quaint little market has all of the essentials, affordable prices, friendly vendors, and a sweet vibe. It’s lovely to see some of the same people over and over again, and it really forms a sense of community in the neighborhood. Especially when it shares space with the library and a school, this market feels very community-oriented. I love it!

DITMAS GREEN MARKET HAS A LOCALS FOCUS
Not as large as the destination Green Markets at Union Square and Grand Army Plaza, the Cortelyou Road market is a neighborhood affair with little stall jostling and has vendors from upstate New York, New Jersey and the remoter parts of Long Island. Typically arising at 0400 to be loaded and on the road to the street outside PS 139, where writer Bernard Malamud studied, the farmers, cheese mongers, dairy men and bakers offer fresh vegetables, fruits in season, and meats and fish. Scallops there are a favorite and the breads never disappoints.
