Empire State University

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THIS HORRIBLE SCHOOL. THE ONE IN SARATOGA BUT I'M GUESSING ALL THE empire SCHOOLS ARE THE SAME. This school is not about helping students. This school is about money and the professors. I had surgery and had a legitimate doctors note keeping me out of class for 2 weeks. Dr. Burden refused to accept this note and gave me zeros on 2 assignments forcing me to drop the course. I also explained to her about me losing a son and my wife going through several miscarriages (one while taking the course) and her response was her husband passed away and she still met her deadlines. The professors at empire do not posses empathy and are not required to as I filed a grievance and was denied. The dean felt it was O.K. for a professor to judge how a student grieves. I was accused of writing threatening emails because I asked if a teacher was O.K. sarcastically because she accused me of cheating. Yes that was considered threatening. It's clear the employees need help. I also had issues using Maple, which is a horrible program that other students complained about and I was given zeros from Dr. Blue because she said it worked for me before so it should work. She never offered any guidance or help. These are the professors this school hires. I asked to make an appointment with the dean of students many times and was ignored and denied. I do not consider empire a SUNY school so I will never place SUNY in front of it because it does not operate as one. I have attended 4 SUNY schools and I am happy to say they are great and are there for the students. Please save yourselves from this abomination of a school. Look at the embarrassing graduation rate, it's under 50%. That is a joke like the staff. The modules are outdated at the beginning of the semester meaning the professors are lazy and don't change the dates on them. I mean how hard is it to change dates and that's their job. To me they are overpaid baby sitters as 95% of them don't teach. All they do is set up homework, which is corrected automatically and then we the students do the famous 2 discussion post replies and create our 1 discussion post. Most professors take 2 days to write back. I had a professor take three. I had several grievances filed all with proof right there and was denied for all of them. I know several REAL Professors and teachers and showed them my files and they couldn't believe I was denied and how they treat their students. I tried offering help to empire and give them tips and ideas on how to be a SUNY school but they refuse to take it. My goal is to help students never attend this ridiculous school and save themselves heartache and time. To have the dean of this school back up a professor for judging me on how I grieve is appalling. I'm sorry I obviously care about my family members and they clearly don't. That's fine that they don't care but to judge a student because they love their family is disgusting. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL. I HAVE EMAILS AS PROOF FOR ALL OF MY COMMENTS. IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD.
