Very nice trails to walk, No concrete, right off a major road.

I've been coming here since I was a child. I fondly remember feeding the ducks with my grandfather. Apparently this enclave of the contiguous greater park area that consists of Caleb Smith State Park and Blydenburgh County Park (both of which anyone can access) is restricted to Smithtown residents with Smithtown parking permits. Even though I live around the corner, I'm on the "wrong side" of Townline Road, hence I'm an Islip resident and can't legally park there. I don't mind paying parking fees, but parks and green spaces should be accessible to all. Not restricted to residents of a particular town. The county should annex it and make it part of Blydenburgh.

PSA if you don't live in Smithtown, apparently you aren't allowed to park your car to walk in this park. I received a $75 parking ticket for "parking without a resident permit parks and beaches pass." The signs explaining this are small and barely visible.

A small but nice and quit park! It seems like a great place to relax without being overwhelmed by a great crowd of people and the view of the water was peaceful. I like that your able to circle back to the parking lot

Fantastic. Beautiful. Sublime. Pristine. Serene. Each and every one of those words can be used to describe Bill Richards Park. Just minutes through some trees from the busy Veterans Memorial Highway, you step into a wonderland of nature and beauty. My friends and I loved it.

Beware of parking tickets. I live 5 minutes away from this park, got a $75 parking ticket for not having the Town of Smithtown ticket in my car.
Crooks!
If you don't have a Smithtown sticker, avoid this park!!
