Took the kids to visit Santa Claus and Mrs Claus. Took a picture with him and made Victorian era Christmas ornaments. Fun experience for the kids.

*5 stars for my tour guide, Robert Moran. He was excellent - very knowledgeable, detailed, and kind. Since no one else showed up for the tour, it was just Robert and myself, which was nice so I could ask lots of questions.
*5 stars for the gift shop offerings and prices.
*3 stars for the actual historic site (graffiti house). I mistakingly thought this site involved an actual battle.

Paid for 6 hours for wedding reception and not allowed to do anything til 5 and had 3 hour reception for had to clean up at ten to be out before eleven. Was hot that night and had air conditioning in front by outside doors but none of the vents in room were working and was very hot and uncomfortable. All the guests were complaining how hot the room was and was told nothing could be done to fix problem. Definitely did not get my money's worth.

Nice place for a wedding venue reception! Just be aware that the place only allows to be used for the reserved time. (I was hoping that we can set up 30 min earlier but no. They don't allow that)

My wife and I used Blenheim as our wedding venue and we were pleased with the experience.  The venue is a beautiful and picturesque Civil War site with a modern building adjacent to it. The grounds are available if you want to put up a dining tent as we did.  We set up lawn games for the kids (and adults) on the large grounds which made the reception even better.  Fairfax County made the rental process easy.  It was affordable as venues in the National Capital Region go.  The staff on the day of the wedding was very helpful to our wedding planner and flexible when things didn’t work as planned as always happens on a wedding day.   Because Blenheim is a historic site and sits amid a residential area there were certain restrictions, however, the restrictions did not make us significantly alter our wedding plans.  You must plan your wedding around the public times for the historic site so that causes some limitations, but again, we were able to make everything happen even with the restricted time schedule.  We had an amazing wedding at Blenheim and would suggest our friends and family use it for their weddings or events.
