We are on our 3rd dog with Kings Trail Animal Hospital over a few decades. Dr. Chris Erdman and the staff are very good and extremely accommodating. He has called me personally after we've been there for a visit.
It is very clean and a lovely building that Dr. Erdman had renovated .

If you know about Grandin Road you will appreciate how the inside of this vet office is decorated. Staff are very outgoing and professional. They make you and your pet feel special while you are there. You can tell the staff wipes down the exam room after each animal has been seen. All personnel that come in contact with the pet and their owner are eager to answer all your questions or find someone who can answer the question. Come visit this vet office.

When this vet took over this practice many years ago he was wonderful. He had a great bedside manner and was accurate with his diagnosis. However that has TOTALLY CHANGED recently. The last two recent appointments have been horrible. I have a beautiful pit bull who gets excited to be there. On a routine visit his demeanor was aloof, quite frankly was rude. This Tuesday I called for an emergency visit as my Baby (her name) had sizeable scratches on her lower stomach and a puncture on one side. She was lethargic and having difficulty using her back legs. The vet's attitude from the beginning was completely indifferent. He conveyed in word and deed that he did not like my dog at all. I was explaining what transpired recently. He stated that this was a rash probably from some kind of vegetation and that she was scratching. I was extremely concerned since he only lifted one leg up to examine her. Not at ALL A THOURGH examine. Not even giving due diligence to her entire stomach. I explained that she could not have created the scratches because she is chubby and could not reach that area at all. He was then totally rude telling me that he knew what he was talking about as if I was an idiot to suggest anything else. The icing on the cake is when my dog barked to get attention. He SCOULED, opened the back door telling me he could not hear me, when he should have pet her. It made no sense to open a door to more ambient noise. I canceled the follow up visit deciding to take to another vet. After my refreshing visit elsewhere. The vet disagreed with the rash diagnosis. We both believe that she was chasing an animal (racoon ) and optained the injuries. We have privacy fences in the back yard, however there is 1 side with a 4 ft metal fence in front that we belive she got caught on. Keep in mind this fence does not have points on top, however does have rounded points on top. The new vet found on her left side a sizable knot where the puncture is. He took a sample to be sent to the lab. To have my fur baby treated with no respect or compassion is not acceptable. Because a dog gets excited is a poor excuse from any vet to treat them off color. I thankfully have found a new doctor for my dog's care. In short I was furious to have my dog treated so poorly, and have a serious issue like a large lump present, that was not found and addressed. I have patronized this office since 2008. Also their rates have skyrocketed over the last years.Do yourself and your beloved animal a favor be going elsewhere.

So disappointed with my most recent appointment. I’m fine with paying more because they are a small business but their prices for this visit were absolutely insane! Only to be shamed for not buying heartworm treatment from them at the end, despite explaining numerous times that my dogs won’t take any of it or they immediately throw it up if I force feed it to them.
They are happy, healthy, and obviously extremely well cared for and very very loved so to be talked down to as an owner was very upsetting.
The tech we saw was wonderful, but I was super disappointed with everyone else. We will definitely be looking into a new office in the future.

This place used to be really good and has turned into an absolute rip off and only cares about money. Spoke with Melissa which was absolutely heartless and had zero remorse. For how my dog was feeling, or the lack of attention to the exam, and only could stress about how much it was going to cost to bring him back 24 hours after his Initial exam .Every little thing that you bring your animal for is gonna cost you extra if you walk in the door it’s an office fee if you want them to actually check your dog and it is additional fee if you want shots you have to pay for the office visit plus the shot if you want your dogs nails groomed it’s gonna cost you extra money they could care less about your animal and are there simply to collect money please be aware that your animal is not gonna leave better than when he came in Unless you’re willing to spend money to have every aspect of your Animal checked out. I brought my dog in for a check up and his next round of shots took him to the groomers 24 hours later and they told me he had an ear infection. I called them to ask why they didn’t give him a check up and they said that’s not what I paid for. That would be an additional cost bringing him in plus another office visit because now that there’s a problem, absolutely ridiculous and heartless veterinarians working back there. I would not bring any animal to them again. I will say this, the front staff is nice and polite. Even they had issues with how the situation was handled, and lack of care my dog received!

We moved here almost 2 years ago from MN. I needed to get established with a new vet. I had no idea where to start, so I Googled vets and chose this vet clinic based on their location and the fact their doctor was originally from the Midwest as well. This past week, we had to put one of our fur babies out of here misery. It is never an easy thing to drive your pet to a vet clinic knowing you will never see them again. When we arrived, they helped us in the door and had a nice blanket for her to lie on. The doctor gave her one shot to relax her and it gave us time to say our goodbyes while she was still with us. Then, once she was sleeping, he gave her the final shot to end her misery. The clinic took care of it all, right down to sending her to the crematory and notifying us when her remains were ready to be picked up. The urn was beautiful and the company they used also gave us a paw print. The clinic also signed a sympathy card which was included with the other items. The clinic was compassionate and professional and I thank them for making my dogs last days a better memory for us than what it could've been.

I have taken my pets to other veterinary clinics since I moved to Jacksonville; but since coming to Kings Trail, I will not go anywhere else.
