The service and atmosphere were very good. Keep in mind the restaurant was beyond packed due to a comedy show down the street, so I think they were a bit over whelmed. I had the twin fliet medium rare. They were very well done. The mash potatoes were a greenish color. They used a chive oil in the mash, and it was delicious!

We came in for dinner last week and enjoyed ourselves. Very unique vibe with peanuts on every table. We got cheeseburgers and were satisfied. Just good old fashioned food, nothing fancy. FANTASTIC service, though. Natalie is a wonderful waitress.

Cute bar that’s been around for almost 100 years. Nice atmosphere and service. The chocolate covered pretzel pie is amazing.

Cool bar and atmosphere. I narrowed my choices down to what the menu said was a French dip with shaved prime rib or the fish and chips that used cod. I was verifying this with the bartender and he said the French dip had roast beef and not sliced prime rib. I also discovered that the fish was haddock and not cod. I decided to go with fish and chips and it was terrible. The breading was very mushy and at lease one of the haddock pieces was not edible (I think it was the spine). Service was very good just very disappointed in the food I received and the fact that the menu did not accurately reflect the product.

Came into reading for a show at the arts theater. Parking is available right next door. It was our first time at the peanut bar restaurant and it was very warm and welcoming. We made reservations in advance for 5:30. We arrived and we’re seated promptly. Restaurant has spacious seating for two people up to and including multiple families. Nice drink and food menu. We happen to be there on a jazz night which was very pleasant while we dined. Food and drinks came out quick once we ordered. Crab cake had a wonderful garlic sauce, veggies were crisp and flavorful. Bacon burger was cooked to my liking, with lots of bacon on top. Huge dill pickle came with my meal. The whole place was an absolute gem. Will definitely be coming back!!

Our 1st visit tonight, we will be back. Fantastic service, thoughtful and attentive especially for my adult special needs son. Love the history on the walls and the photo montage of vintage Reading on TV. We all enjoyed our meals.

One of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We came for a graduation celebration and were greeted with custom menus with the graduate's name. Sabrina brought such a sense of joy and passion to our table, and her recommendations were spot on for every course.

The food coming out of the kitchen was easily a bright star in the Reading area, with each dish coming out perfectly. From wiener schnitzel to seared ahi tuna, there was not a disappointing bite throughout the meal.

Desserts were a perfect complement to our entrees, and the touch of having the graduate's name written in chocolate was the attention to detail you rarely see these days.

It's very easy to see why this restaurant has been around for 98 years, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it around for another 98.
