Very good museum. The exhibitions Colonialism and Rotterdam and A World in Common (photography) are very well curated and are very, very interesting. I just wished they had more explanations, for the Colonialism and Rotterdam exhibit, in English. Overall, an interesting museum to not be missed. I went in the morning (ascension holiday) and it was quiet. It also has a cafe and it seemed that they served brunch/light meals.

A wonderful discovery. Beautiful building. Kind and helpful staff. We love their approach to diversity and inclusiveness, and what to do with the thousands objects inherited from colonial age. What remains today is living all together incorporating and transmitting all traditions. Fantastic exhibition of contemporary african photography.
Lovely building on the river. It's in an amazing area of what I could see. Over the holiday (End of April till Beginning May) there is one floor for kids. Here they can learn about how and why the different races that live here live, also why they had to come over... they do this inform of story telling with animation and music and small buildings, shops where you can interact with the characters by pressing a button. They will start explaining through a mirror with a magic projector that represent their story. Basically learning how The Netherlands got so many different races in the land. Lots of interesting information about the history regarding this.
It's great fun! Also have 2 workshops for both adults and kids. Great day out!!
Enjoyable museum with different exhibitions. I enjoyed the exhibition about the African cultures very much and learned some new things thanks to that exhibition. The location of the museum is also on a great spot, close to the Erasmus bridge and there is a great view from the museum.

In the land of the finest museums in the world, the World Museum (Het Wereldmuseum) is most underrated. This ethnographic museum is a hidden treasure right in the heart of the city surrounded by spectacular views of the river. An absolute must if you live here or if you come and visit Rotterdam. Check their website for new exhibitions throughout the year
