Our family signed on for college financial aid advising and i cannot stress enough, how much stress was reduced by having the Lockwoods on board to help us navigate our first kid going to college. From submitting CSS & FAFSA in this bonkers time to negotiating aid, they were responsive, creative and effective! When our initial aid offer wasn't as strong as we hoped, Andy reviewed our small business P&L and helped us make the case for more funds! It worked! Andy personally provided my son, and I, with invaluable insight and direction for the college application process. He is an expert in the field, who is not shy to provide straight forward actionable advice but maybe his most important skill is management of his first rate team. His wife Pearl handled the filing of all our financial forms, which I found confusing, despite being a retired financial executive. Marissa, the testing tutor is incomparable. With her help my son raised his SAT score by 150 points after taking her SAT class and a few one-on-one tutoring sessions. Chris, one of the essay coaches, was first rate, and saved me, from innumerable arguments with my son about keeping on schedule to complete his personal and supplemental essays.

Andy's One-on-One client service is well worth the investment. A 4 year college degree costs about $300,000 at a top college and spending roughly 4%-5% to find the right college for your child and knowing you have done everything in your power to help them navigate a confusing and complex process has a very high return on investment. Andy's specialty is maximizing financial and merit aid many families raise their financial aid by several multiples of his fee. My son was lucky, and had an excellent high school guidance counselor, to also help him with the college process and yet my son and I would have struggled to work our way through the application process without Andy and team. Maybe the best recommendation for Andy and team is my son will be attending University of Michigan School of Engineering this September.

Lockwood College Prep was extremely helpful in navigating the college search and FAFSA process. Andy and Pearl took the stress out of finding the right college for both my daughters. Managing the college application process can be overwhelming, not just for the student, but for the parents as well. Because it was our first child going to college, I didn't feel equipped to advise our son. Things have changed so much since I had gone to college, and no matter how many information sessions I attended at his school, I didn't feel like I had the knowledge base that was needed to help him navigate the process. Additionally, I really didn't want to spend my son's senior year hounding him about his applications, or questioning his choices.
