It was my first time coming and will definitely be back. My friends and I were celebrating a birthday and the staff was so accommodating. Food was delicious but my favorite were the drinks! The bartender had some really creative and exotic drinks. Can’t wait to come back.

I’ve been in Manhattan for work, and the menu of this place (displayed outside the restaurant) caught my eye when I was walking around. So the next day I decided to go here for dinner. The place looked decent. My first experience when I got the table was that the person who got me a table, gave me the menu. There was soo little space on the table, that she left the menu card to the corner of the table which was almost falling down. She didn’t care to adjust things around. It wasn’t even crowded for me to assume that they are busy. I was very clear on what I wanted to order Jackfruit biryani. This is a delicacy in my place back in India. When I took the first bite, the food was extremely cold like it was just taken out from a refrigerator. I told them the same, and they replaced it. This time, the food was hot. I’m not sure if it’s fresh though. It tasted OK. I didn’t want to get into a discussion, finished my dinner and left the place. It felt like even minimum effort was not put into serving me. I wouldn’t go back here for sure.

Went to Saar after reading good reviews but utterly disappointed… ambience is good but food and esp service of below par. Waiter Raj was courteous initial but later started throwing attitude… all the dishes & drinks suggested by him were disaster… esp cocktail suggested by him turned out to be pure alcohol, when informed he takes away the full drink only to find added in the bill.. wont recommend this place unless you like to spoil your mood

While we were visiting NYC, we thought to try this restaurant after looking at positive reviews but I would say that our experience wasn’t great.

After considering the price and fine dining, we felt the dishes lacked complexity, flavour as well as quantity.
Paneer lababdar was too sweet and lacked texture, the quantity and plating surprised us and we felt it look incomplete.
The Dal Makhni was bit bland and again lacked flavour and taste.
We also ordered Murgh Kesari which was good but one of the pieces were raw and we had to ask for replacement.
The service was okay and prompt but would say that server should refrain from making unsolicited advice unless being asked for.

Would not recommend this restaurant as I have tried better restaurants in NYC.

Excellent service, food, and attention. I came for a dinner with coworkers and left with wanting to come back again (bringing family and friends) next time I’m in town.

Amazing cocktails and food selection. Please ask for Raj, your time at Saar will be one to remember!! He was amazing!!!

A group of colleagues (leaders, seniors and peers) were meeting after 2-3 years. The restaurant management was thoughtful enough to accommodate the right seating arrangement for us where we had our own space and time to chat and catch-up. The food options were great and the cocktails were out-of-the-box! The chef and owner provided us with a complimentary chaat. We thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. Would love to come again in the future!!

The restaurant is well located for the theatre district. We opted to order from the regular menu instead of the pre-theatre prix fixe menu. The food was great. The service was also top notch. We’ll return the next time we’re in NYC for a meal when we’re not in a hurry to get to a show.

LOCATION: walkable distance to Times Square

FOOD: Flavourful and spicy. Portion size is good. They also have side order portions which is good for 1-2 person.

DRINKS: We tried the Mocktails and they were pretty average. Wouldn’t order them again.

Staff: Courteous & attentive. Service was really good.

I will definitely recommend this place.
