Visiting family in Lake Charles area. Unfortunately the children's area is closed on Monday's for maintenance and grounds up keep. But it was a beautiful morning so we walked along the sidewalk. There is a beautiful memorial for 911. As well as other things along the water front. We enjoyed it!

This park has an amazing playground. It’s expansive and compatible with kids of all ages. It’s naturally setup with a nautical theme with a large pirate ship sitting as a center piece. There are separate areas for the big kids and little kids. There are plenty of slides and swings and the typical stuff, but there are also some interesting home grown features that I’ve not seen anywhere else.

It’s also super secure with two fences that ensure the kids aren’t going to escape.

The bathrooms are surprisingly clean and there is a splash pad for the summer months.

This is a jewel.
Great fenced in park with a variety of play equipment for children to explore and have fun. There are different areas for younger and older children.

It does not have a splash pad.

In this area it’s hot during the summer. Go earlier in the morning. It’s more tolerable.

Be aware that the park is closed on Mondays until 1:00 PM for cleaning and maintenance.

It could use some pressure cleaning in some areas. Apparently the birds like the playground too, if you catch my drift.

Travelled to Lake Charles for a weekend getaway. Toured Millennium Park which is by the lake. Beautiful property. Had a memorial from 9/11 which brought so many thoughts back on that day. They have an are with a stage and a grassy knoll to sit on a blanket to enjoy music, plays and other arts. Just so happened they had a concert with 3 local bands that we returned to in the evening. It was free of charge. Had artist booths, food trucks and beer. Sodas and water were free. Everyone had a great time. Loved it !!!!!

What a great park! Combination of Veterans and 9/11 memorial as well as a Founders Landing. Well-maintained park people and pet friendly. Runs parallel to the lakefront walk which is beautiful. The entire atmosphere is really a nice place for families to relax and learn.

Wow. Just, wow. We are from the East coast and had no idea how nice a park could be, with comfy accomodations for adults too! IF I lived here, I'd be asking my kids to take "me" to the park instead of the other way around! They even had a sweet lady on staff that was able to graciously clean up an area that had an unfortunate issue. If anything, the park should consider having a concession stand in the area that looks like, a concession stand. It is outside the fence and has tables. That would be cute! But, oh my, this is one of the best parks we have been to in our entire life. Highly recommend! Thanks Lake Charles for showing us that all family matters too! Many states have a lot to learn from that, including my own.
