Really enjoyed our visit as a group of six for a birthday - it felt very special and worthy of the Michelin star based on similar level experiences we’ve had. Menu was interesting with excellent flavours, great cooking and the wine pairing introduced us to new Spanish wines that were superbly matched to the food. Service was professional, warm and friendly and they were clearly very passionate about local Basque products. There were lovely touches like locally made pottery and cutlery. They presented each wine and dish well. We went for the 14-course tasting menu - half our party had the full wine pairing and half had a reduced pairing (less wines, same quantity per glass). The 10 course option loses some of our preferred dishes. I’d looked around at other similar Michelin star restaurants and found this one to offer a great setting, nice dishes and good value for the experience that lasted nearly four hours in total. I’d say the website is not as good as the restaurant itself, photo wise, and we were pleasantly surprised on arrival. Their Instagram is worth a look. They can accommodate up to two tables of six per setting, it was small and intimate - I think around 25/30 covers maximum. We were able to take away the Petits Fours, a copy of the menu and wine flight wines. Would definitely recommend and would return.
My wife and I chose the 10-course option. What a wonderful experience of excellent cuisine! Every course was a new culinary delight. Imaginative without losing its way. Everything on the plate was flavoursome down to the last detail. Contrasts in flavour and texture complemented each other perfectly. The crockery and cutlery were always wonderful in terms of shape and material. The service was always competent, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The Mina lives Ikigai in its purest form. Every detail has been thought through with love and nothing is left to chance. We felt very comfortable and had an exceptionally nice final evening in Bilbao.

We sat at the bar and had a fantastic diner at Mina’s. Every course of the 14-course tasting menu was perfect. Thanks a lot to Alvaro and his staff for the total experience!

It's nowhere near Michelin-star level.None of the dishes are made fresh on-site. They're just given a quick touch-up and plated after being preheated. The taste is so-so, and the chef isn't around either. The sauces are all super tangy, giving every dish this same kind of flavor. The service feels like it's more about students getting practice rather than professionals, and there's nothing that really wows me or leaves a lasting impression.

Bilbao bietet bessere sehr gute Alternativen.

Having dinner at Mina is an amazing food experience which you will remember for a long time. After years you will bring back memories about the great and unexpected tastes that they served you here. Mina has a Michelin-star (of course) so my expectation was high and they matched that expectations easily. Staff is very friendly as well! Loved it here! You can choose for 10 or 14 courses, but the portion of food in total is the same. Wines are really well chosen too and is not too much at all.

First time in a Michelin start.
Everything was explained in English as my partner does not speak Spanish.
Service at the same time it was professional, it was also a closer and familiar make the experience very nice and not overly forced.
I am happy with the experience, and by the end of it I can say that the price was more than paid off.
I can't be more happy with the decision of booking Mina restaurant for lunch.

As a side note we dat down on the bar, I could choose both bar and table, but I thought sitting down in the bar would add a touch to the experience, and I was not wrong. If you enjoy cooking, the bar was like being in a show where you can see how everything is prepared and how every small detail is fine tuned.

We came cos for the 1 star Michelin rating and had the 14 course tasting menu.

The menu leans heavily on seafood. Every dish was delicious. However as I write this 3 days later , I can’t think of a dish that left a strong impression.

The presentation, taste and a service were good. The 4 bottles of wine we had were amazing.

Overall we had a good meal but not blown away.
