The Jamaican High Commissioner to the UK and PICA Jamaica should be ashamed to associate themselves with this place. The staff are rude and work at snails pace. The appointment system does not work! About 6 people receive the same slot whilst only 2 staff are working. The average time spent with each person is 30-45 minutes. Even with a 10 o clock appointment you have to be prepared to give up your whole day. The room is small so it feels a bit like a cattle shed with too many people packed in. It would make more sense to spread out the appointments as with 2 staff they cant realistically attend to everyone in the morning. I have been to lots of embassies and seeing this poor level of service at a Jamaican Consulate is embarrasing and disappointing. There are some simple changes that could be made to improve this place… shame on you Jamaica High Commissioner! shame on you PICA!

I started my renewal of passport January 2023. In March 2023 I got a response from the office which I promptly replied to. Heard nothing again until I presented myself at the office 6 months later September 2023. My documents were apparently left unattended but needed a new photo and payment. This was done in September 2023. 4 months later January 2024 still no passport or correspondence. I again made contact with the office and was told that my application was sent to Jamaica 1st week of October 2023. It is now 6 months later and I still haven’t received any passport or correspondence. It is now 1year 3 months since I first made my application for a renewal passport. What a disgusting and inadequate service.

Services was good on the day, very prompt..Best to attend early.
Please do not waste your time and money taking photo to bring in..make sure you get your photos from Snappy photo... those are the only ones they take..i dont know if they get some commission or what with Snappy photos but make sure you get Snappy passport photo.
Absolute pandemonium in the passport and citizenship office. They have also refused to accept official legal documents because my marriage certificate clearly states my surname can be spelled EITHER with ü or alternatively 'ue' for keyboards that do not have an accent, but they said my passport says 'ue' and therefore my marriage certificate must be identical i.e. not specify both spellings! As this is an official document there is no other option available so I will have to go to my MP to raise the issue of why the Jamaican High Commission will not accept British legal papers. I have tried to get through on the phone 10 times but it keeps going dead and I have tried to contact the Consulate in Birmingham but it seems to be closed. I met others there who had been in up to six times trying to get paperwork approved because everything has to be done in person. I had a 5 hour journey to get there and had to stay in London overnight because they refuse to do anything online. Another person I spoke to has spent 9 months trying to get paperwork and appointments sorted. It is the most inefficient setup I have ever encountered. However, I must say that the customer-facing staff were all very calm and pleasant and the problems are clearly organizational which leaves them in a very difficult position.

If I had the option of not giving any stars I would do just that.
I applied for my passport renewal 5 months ago and I still haven't received the passport, I have tried to call the High Commissioner office numerous times as well as sending emails but so far I haven't received any response to my emails and as far as my calls no one ever answers it always rings out. I am incredibly appaled by this service and the lack of customer awareness, they ought to be ashamed of how the system is being run. I need my passport urgently and not being told anything is very annoying.

After reading many of the negative reviews, I was dreading coming in today.. but my experience couldn't be any more different. The whole team I encountered were helpful, attentive, thorough and helped me and my family with everything we needed. A special thanks to Ms Taylor- You're a star!

I was apprehensive about the service I would receive here based on the bad reviews. However, when I came to do my passport application here in July I was seen promptly. I was told that it would be ready in 4 months. After 5 months I returned to the High Commission as I still hadn't received it and was told that it would be a further 6 weeks. It then arrived a month later. I did call up to check on the progress in that time and was updated on the whereabouts. In total the process took 6 months which I think is acceptable. The staff were polite, helpful and professional. However, the same cannot be said of some customers who were rude and in some cases abusive to staff who were nothing but polite back (I saw this behaviour from a minority of customers on both visits to the high commission). I saw customers who had turned up without appointments or with the wrong documents (despite their being a clear list of documents needed for passport applications on the website) become rude and verbally abusive to staff when their applications could not be processed. This made the atmosphere quite unpleasant and hostile for the staff and the rest of us waiting. I felt sorry for the staff who had to work in such difficult conditions because of such rude and entitled customers.
