Good canned items and frozen foods. Some meats are good, like Steak, Pork. Chicken isn’t always the best. Fish isn’t either. DO NOT buy fruit from this store. Fruits like Raspberries, Apples, Watermelon, comes with mold, no flavor or rotten. Good for a quick shop, but ShopRite in college point is the go to for a big shopping.

Bought $30 in fish and it was not fresh. Although it was dated as fresh, it had a slight odor. So I cooked it and it had a chemical taste like it was treated. Another time, I had a free coupon for a product and they wouldn't accept it. The managers that stand in the front of the registers made a big deal about a "land o lakes" coupon. It was very strange. Then they were arguing with an old man about $4.00. It was a shouting scene in the store. I won't go back to this store again. I took my business to the Metfresh down the road and had no problems with my coupon.

Produce improved 100% but MILK refrigerator doors are missing the seal.... so warm air grtting insude...wont be shopping here till they fix that...how do they not see this?

As of this posting 12/19/22, food universe seems to be reopening with an opening date of December 23rd 2022.

This food universe has been very convenient and not too overpriced as many people might say, they do weekly sales and have wide international offerings. Deli is clean and produce is generally fresh but a hit or miss for me personally. I was sad to see it close and relieved to see it plans to reopen. Great neighborhood supermarket.

Used to be a food universe. Couldn’t have sled for a better super market to be here. Huge variety of Hispanic foods and ingredients. Love it

This particular store is a little small. Definitely has the feel of a neighborhood grocery. Not a bad selection. Not as extensive as a larger market for sure. Fairly busy in the middle of the day. Pricing about what you'd expect. Parking lot a plus. Having to park on the street and be in a store for an extended amount of time is crazy. The lot is not huge but it helps just to have one. Would recommend.

The meat and produce are excellent the shelves are always stocked up...good prices free parking and cashiers are well mannered
