I had a last minute lunch at Red Rooster on a Tuesday afternoon. The wait staff got us right in, seated and served. The food exceeded expectations as did the service and dining room. Definitely a go to when dining in Harlem.

Our waitress did not welcome us, nor did she introduce herself. It was a weekday with 2 other tables in our area and those were being taken care of by another waiter. We were given small water glasses in which we regularly had to search for our waitress and ask for more water. She never asked about our meal or how we were doing. The food was brought out by runners. We were excited to come here, but the experience was dampened by the atmosphere created by the staff, so we were excited to leave. The food itself was yummy. The atmosphere at the front, near the patio was cohesive and relaxing. The seating behind the bookcase was dark and lacked life. I wanted to enjoy a restaurant by Marcus Samuelsson, but the atmosphere and service made it 4/10.

What an awesome experience. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits which were very tasty. I wanted to try their fried chicken and added a piece of chicken. This had to be the best fried chicken ever! Bloody Mary was well garnished, but could have used a little more spice. Service was fast and friendly. This restaurant is a must try!

I came here with friends. We had the chicken tower with the macaroni and cheese, heirloom tomatoes, and asparagus. The 20-piece chicken tower is a great value if you are going with maybe 6 people who like fried chicken because the pieces are large and it also comes with sides. The fried chicken was generally crispy and moist. The honey and hot sauce went well on it. I wish the restaurant made its own hot honey. The heirloom tomatoes had more water or sauce than I would have liked. The macaroni and greens were very popular. The asparagus is a lighter side option. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

This was my first time visiting, and I LOVED the food. Everything I tried was delicious. The mac and greens were a combination I never thought would work, but it was DELECTABLE! I cleaned my plate!! The deviled eggs and cornbread were amazing as well.

The location was great, and I loved the decor within the restaurant. However, it seemed like the air conditioning wasn't working. Our table was sweating the entire time.

Also, our server was AWFUL. It took her 10 minutes to greet our table and take our order of drinks and appetizers. We then had to flag her down to place our entrée order. Then again, to get a drink refill. She put the drink order in wrong and then rolled her eyes when the food runner notified her of it. I would have given fewer stars if it wasn't for the manager who refilled our waters and brought us plates when we couldn't find her.

Food was great. Place looked great inside and outside. There is indoor and outdoor dining and a “to go” place right next door. The smash burger was great and fries were very tasty. We were promptly seated and served. Waiter was very attentive with our orders. And overall, it was a great experience.

This place is really dope. The environment is nice. The vibe is there. The people are amazing. The staff is great but the food I believe is not the best in comparison to other place in the area.

Definitely a good time and a good place to enjoy with friends. I would definitely go back and try more things on the menu but I’m not in a rush. 😅
