We stayed there for one night - superb location in the heart of the city - Duomo and shopping all accessible by foot. Great grounds with garden, wonderful food and bar as well as Antonia - well selected designer clothes. Have to single out the concierge service - Valeria and Lidia. They were a great help with getting tough reservations

Overall a stylish well designed hotel that has recently opened but still has some teething issues. At close to €1500 per night without breakfast the fee is somewhat gratuitous given that there is also no gym or spa open yet.

Positives:
- Friendly staff
- Stylish hotel bar with great cocktails
- Good food (but cold coffee served by room service in the morning)
- Comfortable beds with nice bathrooms

Negatives:
- No welcome drink or water offered at check in
- Issues reported to the staff not resolved such as an alarm system that went off from early evening and throughout the night (including waking us at 0430) and we were not offered an alternative room or any assistance with this issue when reported;
- Items not being delivered on room service despite asking on three separate occasions
- Bathroom amenities: majority of the rooms do not have bathtubs (apparently only 3 in the entire hotel on enquiry), the hairdryer is outdated and poor (I would expect a top of the range from a fashion hotel)

The location of the place couldn't be better, just a short 10-minute walk from the iconic Duomo. As you step into the plaza, housed within one of Europe's oldest seminaries, you can feel the rich history that surrounds you.

Every little thing was taken care of, and the staff was incredibly attentive. Of course, for the price you pay, you'd expect nothing less. The rooms were cleaned twice a day, and they even provided small skincare products and perfume samples from Salvatore Ferragamo. And let me just say, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud.

But the real highlight of my stay was breakfast. Even if you're not a hotel guest, you can enjoy the buffet for just EUR 55. Trust me, it's worth every penny. They have all the classic Italian delicacies beautifully displayed with such care – pastries, cheeses, spreads, fresh bread, dairy, and an array of fruits. It may not be the widest selection, but every single item is exquisite. I have to mention the pistachio-filled croissants; they are simply to die for! And the patio, adorned with fruit trees and charming tables, captures the essence of the dolce vita perfectly.

In summary, this hotel may come with a high price tag, but it delivers exactly what you would expect. If you're looking for a luxurious stay in the heart of Milan's fashion district, accompanied by a breakfast experience that will transport you to culinary heaven, I highly recommend giving it a try.

I’ve left a piece of me at this place. I really enjoyed staying at the hotel so much! Their attention to the smallest details made the place feels magical. Rooms are very well designed with very small details you would never imagine! I stayed at many other 5 stars hotel in Milan, Portrait was so special that no other place would feel the same! They really raised the 5 stars hotels standards with all the details they took care of!! The hotel is so cozy, it feels like home. The staff are very polite, attentive, and ready to help. I can’t express how satisfied I’m with my stay at Portrait!

Location is good. However just because you could restore a building doesn’t mean you should be in the hospitality business for 5 star hotel. The check-in staff are polite but they aren’t trained like 5 star hotels, not their fault at all. Also there is no water provided inside the room after check-in and no water is given daily during housekeeping. The only time they give you water is during turn down service. The lobby is cosy but perhaps they have no back room office for staff to use, it is used as their office with laptops so you don’t get to relax there unless you want to hang out with employees to listen to their phone conversations or operational matters. Bathroom door is also a hazard, keep your Swiss knife with you to pry open the door in case you get locked in as the door has no handle and gets faulty sometimes. Or do not close the bathroom door at all. They should re-examine all the doors and reconsider the design as somebody could get seriously hurt

It is hard to put in words the amazing experience We had in the new Portrait Milano hotel.
From the amazing stylish and elegant design of the rooms and public areas to the historical building architecture it all feels like a magical place. Breakfast is simply divine with out-of-this-world pastries. But above all this are the amazing lifestyle team, I simply have no words to describe how friendly they all are (thank you Erica & James for making us feel at home) it is them who make this hotel an amazing experience. It is very expensive hotel but you won't regret it.
You got my vote in next year Conde N’ast best hotel.

It is magical staying here. Staff is attentive and friendly. Rooms are spacious comfortable and quiet. You feel as if you are in a quiet sanctuary in the middle of a busy and exciting neighborhood. My bet is this will keep improving as new venues are added. A real find!
