It has been quite long time I didn't come here, but I found Roma Termini station extremely developed. Full of shops, 3 floors, food court areas with a lot of international brands. It improved a lot if compared with the past.

This terminal is both for busses and trains. Bus stations are outside next to the parking lot. Train stations in the building. To purchase bus tickets, go to any new stands (usually has a sign that says Tabacchi) or one of the surrounding stores that offer luggage storage. The train tickets can be purchased from the red self service machines that say "BIGLIETTI" inside the stations. I made sure to buy my bus tickets for both going and returning ride. You need to validate the ticket you're using for the ride by inserting it in one of the electronic machines inside the bus. Once validated, it's only good for one bus ride within the amount of time noted on the ticket, usually 4 hours. Only validate what you will immediately use. The train tickets need to be validated also, using the electronic machines hanging somewhere near the beginning of the platforms. A transportation employee will check for validated tickets on board the bus and train. There is a penalty if your ticket does not have the validation time stamp. If you don't find the train destination you need on one of the red ticket machines, try the other one. There are two main ticket/ BIGLIETTI machines, ITALO and TRENITALIA. There are big are electronic boards with schedule information. One for train departures and another for arrivals. The boards will tell you which platform (binari in Italian) number to go to for your train. Check the train number, train name, departure time on your ticket and find this on the board to see if your train has an assigned platform yet. Pay attention to your destination terminal as some terminal have similar names or start with same name and has a second part to it. Ask the corresponding info booth for your train info if in doubt. The bus stations are printed on the ticket. There are station staff that you can ask but not all speak English. Most are very helpful.

Nicely built platforms, lots of ticket counters, modern design, shoping and rest spaces. Bus terminal is just outside. Train to FCO airport is also available. Direct train cost 14 euro and takes 30 minute.

Welcome to Roma Termini, the bustling heart of Rome's railway network and a gateway to thrilling destinations across Italy and Europe. This mammoth station boasts a vibrant history, hidden quirks, and a unique blend of modernity and tradition that leaves travelers enchanted. So grab your tickets and let's embark on an exciting journey to discover the secrets of Termini Train Station!
Unveiling the Past: Baths of Diocletian
Roma Termini isn't just a railway station; it's an experience in itself! The entrance hall, lined with an array of shops and restaurants, beckons travelers to indulge in a shopping spree or enjoy a delectable Italian meal before their journey. With an extensive ticket office, currency exchange booths, and travel agents, you'll find everything you need to ensure a smooth trip.
However, our protagonist's quest for a mere euro to use the restroom is a delightful comedy of errors. After scouring high and low for a change machine and even standing in line to purchase something to break bills, our hero discovered the elusive change machine just outside the restroom entrance, cunningly out of sight. Lesson learned: When in Termini, be vigilant in your euro-hunting endeavors!
One of the challenges faced by travelers with large luggage is the lack of a dedicated luggage area. While many initially staked their claim to seats next to their bags, the crowded train saw fellow passengers getting a tad irked. To ensure a pleasant journey for all, our hero eventually had to relocate the luggage to the galley by the exit.
However, for those with smaller bags or purses, storage above the seats provides a convenient solution. For those seeking a more luxurious experience, some trains offer assigned seating at a higher fare, allowing you to travel in style and comfort.
Delve into the bowels of Termini, and you'll be rewarded with a treasure trove of shops and amenities. From a grocery store to two spas, this level has it all. The KiPoint left luggage facility ensures that you can wander unencumbered, and the Sala Blu offers assistance to disabled travelers with heartwarming Italian hospitality.
But hold your bladder till you descend below, as restrooms—referred to as "toilettes" here—are hidden away underground. A humorous reminder of this is the euro entry fee to the facilities, which is well worth the convenience and respite it provides.
Termini's influence extends beyond its magnificent halls. Catch the Metro at this central station, with both the Red and Blue lines serving its lower level, providing easy access to the rest of Rome's wonders. Piazza dei Cinquecento, a major bus hub, offers a myriad of bus lines, perfect for exploring Rome's vibrant streets.
Traveler's Tips: Ticket Machines and Delightful Surprises
Ticket machines dotting the terminal make travel convenient, and large monitors direct you to the correct platform with ease. However, do keep an eye on your ticket, as some journeys might require a motorbus transfer to another station. The trek to the platform can be quite a journey, but don't fret; think of it as a warm-up for the adventure ahead!
While trains are typically punctual, occasional delays might surprise you, adding an extra flavor of suspense to your Roman escapade. Embrace the spontaneity, and remember that even in the delays, you're sure to find unique moments and encounters that will become cherished memories.
Roma Termini isn't just a train station; it's a vibrant tapestry woven from the threads of history, modernity, and captivating Italian charm. So, if you're ready to embark on a thrilling adventure, Termini Train Station beckons with open arms.
Step into the past with a name steeped in Roman history, savor delectable meals, shop till you drop, and uncover hidden treasures beneath its bustling facade. Termini promises laughter, surprises, and unforgettable experiences, all set against the enchanting backdrop of the Eternal City.

It’s a massive railway station with a lot of shops and cafes, it is easy to get lost here. There are always a lot of people coming in and out, a lot of traffic and trains. There are also a lot of sketchy people outside of the station, so be careful not to get into any trouble.

The best so far I have seen in Italy. It was a nice clean station with lots of food and drink options. Two levels and seemed like a pretty safe place. Plenty of windows and lighting. Everything is pretty intuitive in terms of ticketing and signage. There are restaurants on the first floor for quick bits before jumping on the train. More expansive seating upstairs.

My vacation trip was fun with taking public transportation in Rome. On top of that I have friend who lives there and help me communicate with people. The station is so crowded as normal for a big train station but the station is pretty clean.
