Florence train station for train to Florence! Took this to Pizza and very convenient.?

Firenze Santa Maria Novella, often the first glimpse of Florence for visitors arriving by train, is an experience that harmoniously blends historical grandeur with modern functionality. As a Canadian tourist, I was immediately struck by the station's impressive facade, showcasing the elegant and streamlined Italian modernist architecture. Inside, the station is bustling yet well-organized, providing a welcoming gateway to the city's wonders.
The convenience of its location cannot be overstated. Situated right in the heart of Florence, it is a stone's throw away from some of the most iconic sights. A short walk leads you to the stunning Duomo, the picturesque Ponte Vecchio, and countless other Renaissance treasures. The station itself, while a hub of activity, maintains a sense of calm order, making navigation easy for travelers, even those who might not speak Italian.
What I particularly appreciated was the blend of old and new. The station has all the modern amenities you'd expect — from shopping options to a variety of dining choices — yet it never loses its distinctly Florentine character. The nearby Piazza Santa Maria Novella, with its beautiful basilica, provides a serene spot to relax and soak in the ambiance of Florence.
Overall, Firenze Santa Maria Novella is more than just a transit point; it's a delightful introduction to the charm and beauty of Florence. As a Canadian used to more modern transportation hubs, the combination of efficient service, historical architecture, and the proximity to some of the world's most renowned art and architecture was truly memorable.

A beautiful place. Great experience.

The place is quite comfortable and the staff is helpful--imformatione about the train.🙏🌸❄️

As your guide, I recommend reading everything very carefully before buying tickets.
This one is the T1 Tram, which is the one passing by the street, do not go into the station, it is 1.7€ Nov2023(might change in the future).
Pay attention to validate INSIDE of the Tram, you will see that yellow machine, you just put the ticket into the machine and the machine will print the day's date, as you can see in the picture.
I took this one to go to the Station Villa Costanza, which another connection station for train and buses.
I took this one to come back from Pisa and go to Bologna.
You will hear the voice saying each station name aloud, so it's easy
Be careful when buying tickets in the travel agencies webpages, because the stations are not close sometimes and the travel webpages selling tickets from other cities, sometimes do not offer the closest stations to the city .
Enjoy the trip !

Great town to visit with lots of diverse shops, piazza's, good food, cafes, restaurants and bars. Lovely small streets to walk and take in the culture and art from historical churches, statues and the picturesque canals.

Grosser Bahnhof mit viele Geschäften. Unterirdisch kann Richtung Altstadt laufen.

A good place

They have escalators so nice.

It has been quite long time I didn't come here, but I found Roma Termini station extremely developed. Full of shops, 3 floors, food court areas with a lot of international brands. It improved a lot if compared with the past.

This terminal is both for busses and trains. Bus stations are outside next to the parking lot. Train stations in the building. To purchase bus tickets, go to any new stands (usually has a sign that says Tabacchi) or one of the surrounding stores that offer luggage storage. The train tickets can be purchased from the red self service machines that say "BIGLIETTI" inside the stations. I made sure to buy my bus tickets for both going and returning ride. You need to validate the ticket you're using for the ride by inserting it in one of the electronic machines inside the bus. Once validated, it's only good for one bus ride within the amount of time noted on the ticket, usually 4 hours. Only validate what you will immediately use. The train tickets need to be validated also, using the electronic machines hanging somewhere near the beginning of the platforms. A transportation employee will check for validated tickets on board the bus and train. There is a penalty if your ticket does not have the validation time stamp. If you don't find the train destination you need on one of the red ticket machines, try the other one. There are two main ticket/ BIGLIETTI machines, ITALO and TRENITALIA. There are big are electronic boards with schedule information. One for train departures and another for arrivals. The boards will tell you which platform (binari in Italian) number to go to for your train. Check the train number, train name, departure time on your ticket and find this on the board to see if your train has an assigned platform yet. Pay attention to your destination terminal as some terminal have similar names or start with same name and has a second part to it. Ask the corresponding info booth for your train info if in doubt. The bus stations are printed on the ticket. There are station staff that you can ask but not all speak English. Most are very helpful.

U Bahn Station und wenn Man raus kommt ein grosser Platz mit Geschäften und in den Seitenstraßen ein kleiner Markt.
An manchen Ecken etwas düster und unheimlich.

How is it possible that in the place where people usually wait for the trains with heavy bags, there is no place to sit… not a single bench. There is so much empty space and there are millions of stairs but not a single bench?
To reach all the bathrooms you need to go through multiple stairs, just to find out that all of them are closed after nine. Where am I supposed to pee if my train is at 23.55? The floor?
Then, to reach my platform the stair elevator down worked but the one going up didn’t. I just wanted to check if there are places to sit there but I didn’t want to risk carrying my bags up not working elevator stairs..
overall, horrible experience, what a poorly thought through station. Nothing for the passengers except the shops to suck some money out :(
Oh and you can’t leave you luggage anywhere on the station as well, need to walk to some caffe or hotel.

The place is huge and modern with lots of great stores. 3 stars because the inner establishments have no bathrooms. You are forced to pay a euro for a dirty, smelly, rundown toilet.

A great train station in one of the greatest cities in the world. Bright, clean and efficient with convenient shops and nice restaurants.

We had the Full Experience + Arena without guide tickets booked from the official website. Just amazing to be able to walk around and explore Colosseum by yourself. 👌

Can’t pay contactless for the tickets

Nice station with good options in terms of stores. Few places to sit down, only 1x toilet near line 5 costing 1€ per person and not very clean.
Thank me later for this ADVICE / TIP:
- FREE Lounge with Wi-Fi and toilets (for free), just cross the street, enter Diplomat Hotel Florence and go upstairs.

Nice train station. I love the old decor. Few restaurants and places to get drinks. Easy access to trains. Taxi stand right out front. Really close to center of Florence. Love the train spotting here….

Nicely built platforms, lots of ticket counters, modern design, shoping and rest spaces. Bus terminal is just outside. Train to FCO airport is also available. Direct train cost 14 euro and takes 30 minute.

Welcome to Roma Termini, the bustling heart of Rome's railway network and a gateway to thrilling destinations across Italy and Europe. This mammoth station boasts a vibrant history, hidden quirks, and a unique blend of modernity and tradition that leaves travelers enchanted. So grab your tickets and let's embark on an exciting journey to discover the secrets of Termini Train Station!
Unveiling the Past: Baths of Diocletian
Roma Termini isn't just a railway station; it's an experience in itself! The entrance hall, lined with an array of shops and restaurants, beckons travelers to indulge in a shopping spree or enjoy a delectable Italian meal before their journey. With an extensive ticket office, currency exchange booths, and travel agents, you'll find everything you need to ensure a smooth trip.
However, our protagonist's quest for a mere euro to use the restroom is a delightful comedy of errors. After scouring high and low for a change machine and even standing in line to purchase something to break bills, our hero discovered the elusive change machine just outside the restroom entrance, cunningly out of sight. Lesson learned: When in Termini, be vigilant in your euro-hunting endeavors!
One of the challenges faced by travelers with large luggage is the lack of a dedicated luggage area. While many initially staked their claim to seats next to their bags, the crowded train saw fellow passengers getting a tad irked. To ensure a pleasant journey for all, our hero eventually had to relocate the luggage to the galley by the exit.
However, for those with smaller bags or purses, storage above the seats provides a convenient solution. For those seeking a more luxurious experience, some trains offer assigned seating at a higher fare, allowing you to travel in style and comfort.
Delve into the bowels of Termini, and you'll be rewarded with a treasure trove of shops and amenities. From a grocery store to two spas, this level has it all. The KiPoint left luggage facility ensures that you can wander unencumbered, and the Sala Blu offers assistance to disabled travelers with heartwarming Italian hospitality.
But hold your bladder till you descend below, as restrooms—referred to as "toilettes" here—are hidden away underground. A humorous reminder of this is the euro entry fee to the facilities, which is well worth the convenience and respite it provides.
Termini's influence extends beyond its magnificent halls. Catch the Metro at this central station, with both the Red and Blue lines serving its lower level, providing easy access to the rest of Rome's wonders. Piazza dei Cinquecento, a major bus hub, offers a myriad of bus lines, perfect for exploring Rome's vibrant streets.
Traveler's Tips: Ticket Machines and Delightful Surprises
Ticket machines dotting the terminal make travel convenient, and large monitors direct you to the correct platform with ease. However, do keep an eye on your ticket, as some journeys might require a motorbus transfer to another station. The trek to the platform can be quite a journey, but don't fret; think of it as a warm-up for the adventure ahead!
While trains are typically punctual, occasional delays might surprise you, adding an extra flavor of suspense to your Roman escapade. Embrace the spontaneity, and remember that even in the delays, you're sure to find unique moments and encounters that will become cherished memories.
Roma Termini isn't just a train station; it's a vibrant tapestry woven from the threads of history, modernity, and captivating Italian charm. So, if you're ready to embark on a thrilling adventure, Termini Train Station beckons with open arms.
Step into the past with a name steeped in Roman history, savor delectable meals, shop till you drop, and uncover hidden treasures beneath its bustling facade. Termini promises laughter, surprises, and unforgettable experiences, all set against the enchanting backdrop of the Eternal City.

There are no lockers for the luggage.
Not any place where you can leave your luggage and explore the city while waiting for a train. I am traveling quite often from treviso airport, and I take the train from Austria to Treviso and I do not know what to do with the luggage while waiting for my flight and there is not any seat or room where you can have a rest at the train station and at the platforms that’s not a single bank, so specially for old people it’s a catastrophe.

It’s a massive railway station with a lot of shops and cafes, it is easy to get lost here. There are always a lot of people coming in and out, a lot of traffic and trains. There are also a lot of sketchy people outside of the station, so be careful not to get into any trouble.

Very good junction of train, metro, atac bus, Cotral bus, private bus services and shops and restaurants and again, taxi services.

The best so far I have seen in Italy. It was a nice clean station with lots of food and drink options. Two levels and seemed like a pretty safe place. Plenty of windows and lighting. Everything is pretty intuitive in terms of ticketing and signage. There are restaurants on the first floor for quick bits before jumping on the train. More expansive seating upstairs.

My vacation trip was fun with taking public transportation in Rome. On top of that I have friend who lives there and help me communicate with people. The station is so crowded as normal for a big train station but the station is pretty clean.

Roma Termini is humongous and a Main Central Train Station in Italy 🇮🇹. An always busy station and all places of Italy is accessible from here. It’s an old city world filled with historic and cultural places. An abundant number of churches are sighted. The metro also traverses to Vatican City🇻🇦 and takes only 15 minutes. The Station was very clean and maintained. Inside the station, you can find massive food courts with enormous displays in which you can find your trains easily!

Nice station. Looks great with too many people. The floor is made out of marbles. The only weird thing is, the name of the station is not written anywhere. So it can be confusing as well.

Lovely Italian town with inner walled city and amazing history.
Canals pedestrian only areas and walker friendly.

Roma Tiburtina train station is one of the most modern and well-organized train stations in Rome. It has a unique airport vibe with its clean and spacious interiors, high-tech facilities, and impressive architecture. The station is also well-connected to the city's public transportation network, making it easy for travelers to reach their destinations quickly.
Compared to the more popular Roma Termini station, Roma Tiburtina offers several advantages. For one, it is less crowded, making it easier to navigate and find your way around. Additionally, the station has a wide range of amenities, including shops, restaurants, and cafes, as well as a large shopping mall adjacent to it. This makes it an ideal place to spend some time while waiting for your train.
Another advantage of Roma Tiburtina is that it is a major hub for high-speed trains, such as the Frecciarossa and Italo, which connect Rome with other major Italian cities like Milan, Naples, and Florence. This means that travelers can easily access these destinations from the station, without having to go through the hassle of transferring at multiple stations.

One of best train station I saw that, well cleaned Nd lots shops inside. Not really busy how I was think.

To visit this architectural masterpiece, you can go from morning to evening, but if you love to see the splendor of architectural works like me, you must go there after midnight. Drenched in light that will surely delight you with its beauty.

I can't imagine the challenges involved in building a modern metro in an ancient city. As Rome digs these tunnels and trenches, they're constantly uncovering new ruins and ancient sites. This metro line runs right through so many of them and in 2023, they're building more with Line C nearby!
The entrance to this station is directly across from the renowned Colosseo, therefore it is obvious that the name is fitting. The primary exit is on the ground floor in the Piazza Del Colosseo to the right of the Arch of Constantine. The other exit is on the second floor, in the center of the Largo Gaetana Agnesi park, which is located above the Piazza.
It is on Line B between Circo Massimo (towards Laurentina) and Cavour (towards Rebibbia or Jonio). The station opened in 1955 and is an art gallery in its own right with mosaics in the atrium worth checking out.

Can’t miss this while in Rome. Buy tickets 3 days in advance, else you may not get a slot. The entry time on the ticket is indicative and you can enter an hour earlier or later. Just Google for images on the interior structure to get a sense of artistic images of how the Colosseum would have looked like. About 70% of the original building blocks are missing, there were many restoration works done. So take the audio guide, hence u might miss out the details such as marble staircase, the animal ramp up, the 4 meter high gladiator arena made of wood covered in sand. There were multiple steps all overlooking the arena

Simple to understand subway station with a short walk from the street entrance to the train platform. The trains are large, air conditioned and newish. There is a video screen on the train that shows what station you are at and which ones are coming up.

State of the art station but only half working and in perennial repair.
Worst of all, the public toilets: costs one euro and it’s dirty, sticky, wet and half working.

Undoubtedly one of the must see and main attraction during your visit at Rome for obvious reasons! Guided tour will help you to skip lines as well as access to lower level which you would not be allowed if you buy the ticket by yourself. Highly recommend! You will be amazed with the thousand years old architecture and story of their brutality!

A nice train station with Cafe’s and some places to sit. Watch your things, signs everywhere saying people will pick pocket you.

Two guys appeared out of nowhere and crowded us on the escalator doing the ol' 'wave a ticket while screaming Italian and pick your pockets' routine. These guys were professionals but not violent. I confronted (stupid?) them back in a sassy way. We were not tricked or pickpocketed.

Gorgeous city. In my opinion much better than Venice No crowds, eminently walkable city center, great architecture, not a lot of tourists so restaurants are higher quality and cheaper than Venice. From Maestre station a 15 min train ride.

The Colosseum has long been a bucket list destination of mine and, now that I've finally been here, it didn't disappoint. During my visit, I felt like I was stepping back in time to the glory days of ancient Rome.
No trip to Rome is complete without seeing the Colosseum and I recommend visiting early in the day to beat the lines. We walked right in as soon as the Colosseum opened but by the time we left, the crowds were horrific.

Majestic and Spectacular! These ruins still tell the story of what hundreds of years ago marked the Roman Empire! Ingenuity, architecture that was stunning and amazing detail everywhere the eye travels were just a few characteristics that amazed me!
High on my hit list and maybe the single most important historic site on my trip to Europe, DID NOT WANT TO MISS!! Walking the grounds and seeing the Iconic structure left me in awe over and over as l observed from one vantage point to another!
What a landmark, beyond amazing, nearly 2/3rds still stands of what 50k people use to be able to call their amphitheater. Built by Jewish Slaves and Emperor Vespasian to oversee this, his son Titus would follow the path and finalize the project originally known as the Flavian Project!

From her you may take shuttle bus to Treviso airport , just cross to the left side if you are coming from Venice

If you're visiting in summer then be sure to stay hydrated as its scorching hot and totally draining if you have no cover. We did the 2 hour tour of the Colosseo and surrounding historic areas. We enjoyed the tour overall and the sites are amazing to behold, having the fountains to refill water bottles is very handy and the viewpoints and historic photo opportunities are breathtaking

This station is....interesting. Sometimes you need a ticket, sometimes you don't. It's like an adventure train station. If you don't have a ticket and there's a strike, the officer is kind enough to let you go.

This is truely a sight to behold! Seeing what the ancient Romans were able to construct is awe inspiring. The Colosseum has 2 levels you can visit on a regular entry. You can also book a tour that gets you on you onto the stage and then one that take you below the Colosseum. To score some really awesome pictures go into the roman forum. There is a building near the back that offers great photo opportunities.

As dirty as any other station of line 2. It's next to the marvellous archaeological museum

Helpfull...
