Another recommendation, after having dined at the sister restaurant (Black Sheep). We sat at the rooftop terrace as downstairs area too dark & loud music. Rooftop views are great, tapas menu nice. We enjoyed sundowners & snacks (even tough it was rather windy and had to hold on to our glasses)

I came here with my girlfriend for sunset. We sat on the terrace overlooking table mountain. My amaretto sours were phenomenal! Note that outside seating is limited and the place gets full quickly

My go to bar in Cape Town, I spent many good moments there.
There is a great rooftop with a beautiful view of table mountain.
The wine list is excellent and the atmosphere isn't posh.

Birthday celebrations for about 20pax.
We sat on the roof area under the stars.

Ordered drinks and tapas. The atmosphere was great.

The tapas and drinks are very reasonable priced.

Moved down to the inside area. Nice decor and great vibe.

Cape Town has a lot to offer, but this is one place that I will consistently keep on the list! Lloyd is one of this City’s BEST barmen, his cocktails will rock your socks off, honestly insanely good!

My personal faves are the lemon drop martini, the whiskey sours and the aperol sours will make you go to heaven twice 🔥👌🏻 and some say that house of machines has the best old fashioned in town, but i dare you to come try Lloyd’s take!!

Cannot recommend them anymore, try it you wont be disappointed!!!

I've always only been to The Dark Horse for a quick drink before moving onto dinner. It took friends from JHB to suggest meeting there for something to eat before I realized there was even a menu board on the wall! 😁

And oh my goodness - What have I been missing! Their tapas dishes are well portioned and out-of-this-world tasty, with a nice variety to choose from. My definite favorites were the thick cut chips and the pulled pork bitterballen.

The bar / restaurant was not as full as I usually experience it, so I cannot comment on how efficient the food service would be if it was full. But on our evening out, the food actually arrived quicker than our drinks order.

One can sit outside facing the street on bar chairs, inside on couches and benches, or upstairs with breath taking views of the mountain. Nice vibey atmosphere.
