Hotel 55

Very good location right at the centre of market. The hosts were good and helpful. Good and decent room with a/c and heater options. Only issue was poor Wi-Fi in our room.

This place is right in the middle of Amsterdam, the facilities are pretty basic, a bed a shower a TV. The room was clean. If you have gone to Amsterdam to sit in your hotel room this is not the place to stay. If you have gone to Amsterdam to enjoy its unique culture :-) this is the perfect place to stay. There is a bar below the hotel and the staff are absolutely amazing, they are totally living their best life and encourage you to do so. I went with my middle aged male friend, I am also male and by the time we left I felt like I had know the staff all my life, maybe the drugs helped that.
I was on the 2nd floor and the stair are quite steep, when you are smashed, the walls are thin so if you are there for some shagging be aware people will hear you so make sure you put on a good performance.

Right in the centre of the city this was perfect location. The staff were very friendly and the hotel bar was always busy with good music always playing. I recommend to anyone looking for a few days in Amsterdam

Picked this hotel for its location and also because we are a group of 9 travellers it had availability for us. It lived up to its previous reviews. I would not recommend other than for stag party or sports type groups and definitely no more than 2 nights. The hotel is tired and missing many items. We had a jug and teabags but no cups and milk. The extractor in the shower room didnt work making the room moldy and hence smelly. A bit of TLC and this place could be a little gem.

Enough room for one person, but the sound is not good, when it starts dawn enters a lot of light into the room. Very good cleanliness. The reception is in the bar below the hotel, the friendly employee asks your name and sees handwritten notebook number your name (old school)

WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER

This is the first time I have written such a bad review, but I feel angry. They ruined my stay.

-Dirty towels
- only one towel but any for hands dryer.
- Unorganized, their control system is a notebook 🤔
- The receptionist is also the bar tender, so you depend on the bar schedule.
-Bad attitude for certain employees, they was a lady with "not my problem" kind of responses forcing a smile but looking rude.
- The fees to be paid are not clear, I paid 20€ but at the end of the stay the person who was there the last day told me it was 3€ per night, and I paid 20€ ?

My experience:
- I booked way in advance, and I made a mistake . Immediately, I tried to change for 2 people instead of one, and they replied like a day after saying that I needed to arrange that with customer service the CS told me that the hotel should do it so... "ping pong" util the hotel stopped replying to CS... Then I tried to fix it directly at the hotel, but it looks that the people in charge have not the decision or visibility about what can be done. Anyway, the person that was in charge the first day finally gave me a room for 2.
- In consequence, the day after there was another person and she arbitrarily decided to move my luggage from the room without previous notice, (this should be ilegal, right?) thanks that there was someone else with her (looked like he was her boss) he accepted to give me the room for 2 without additional charge, but they day after sent me back to one person room, but still they made me to get out at 12 and to wait until 3pm to be able to take my room. :( even if it was available already.
- I passed so much time trying to resolve these issues, every day a different room, different people, and I didn't feel welcome at all.

I FEEL EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED, I should have taken into consideration the previous reviews, I can say it was the worse experience ever, and the booking sites should have more quality standards to allow this kind of hotels be in their list.
