Visit while you can! This area is scheduled for redevelopment and apartment buildings constructed. Parking will no doubt be restricted, which will make it challenging to access, especially for people with disabilities who cannot walk or roll far from other car parks. As things stand, there are public restrooms, a seasonal ice-cream shop, and a fish & chips takeaway. Hopefully, the marina will remain, but the plans weren't clear.
Beautiful easy walk with a nice breeze off the water. Cormorants are often visible fishing just over the breakwater. Small boardwalk shacks offer refreshments and resting benches are frequent. Offers a clear view of the Big Fiddle and Pavillion.
Pretty windy when we went !
Very peaceful and well maintained.. public washrooms were clean.. Ice cream place is a bonus and also has kayak and jetski rentals available
Lovely and well maintained boardwalk with a spectacular view of the waters. There are monuments to look at, benches to sit and people watch at, ice cream shops to buy a treat, and plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. Sunset is gorgeous on the boardwalk and you will see people from all walks of life come out and enjoy the space.
