Scam place. Nice people to your face but total tourist trap. Take advantage of westerners to over charge them and rinse you of your money. Better priced products at the airport. Some nice things to buy but don't go without being prepared to haggle and check Internet for prices while in the shop, especially in the jewellery, it's fake costume jewellery made up to be like genuine silver with real stones, outright lied to by the store owner, now trying to get a refund.

This is a tourists trap. No doubt about it. Extremely pricy items (that can be easily found in half and less of the price elsewhere).
Pushy sales persons. And they pay for outsiders to tell you other places are not good and send you there.

They have people outside to scam tourists. Their prices are much higher than normal prices. Their behavior is also not good, The funny thing is that if they don't buy the product from them, they show them the stairs instead of taking the elevator. Tourists beware. Instead of buying from them, there are thousands of shops around, buy from them.

Avoid!

Do not confuse this shop, Delhi Haat cottage emporium, with the government-owned open air market, Dilli Haat. They are not the same.

Delhi Haat shop has some beautiful things, particularly the artwork. You will, however, be charged astronomical prices ie 5 times what they should cost. Take your calculator so you’re clear on the proposed cost of your own currency and barter.

I was sold two beautiful bedspread sets for 17,000 rupees which they told me were raw silk. Upon closer inspection when i got back to my hotel, and as other reviewers have warned, the items were cotton & nylon/polyester and not raw silk. I found these reviews online, realised I’d been lied to and sent the driver back the same day with my goods and obtained a full refund.

I’d also put down a deposit for some jewellery which I’m not convinced was authentic and they gave me back my deposit, which I appreciated.

It’s a shame, as if this shop were honest about the quality and material of their goods and sold things for a reasonable price, hotels would send their guests there and they’d make good money. It’s very short-sighted and dishonest to scam tourists in this way.

Delhi Haat INA is a vibrant marketplace where you can find handicrafts, handlooms, and regional delicacies from across India. It's a great place to shop for unique souvenirs and gifts. The food court offers a mouthwatering array of street food and regional cuisines, making it a paradise for food enthusiasts. Just be prepared to haggle a bit for the best deals!

Authentic Indian crafts can be seen and purchased from here. The best part is you can eat food of all Indian states at this place. I had been to Rajasthani food stall. The food was very authentic in taste. One should visit while in Delhi.

I think all the "scam" reviews are a bit overstated. Yes, there is purposeful confusion over the name with Dilli Haat…. yes, it's Delhi, so you're going to pay more than elsewhere in the country. They're there to make money, which is fair, and in India you just need to know your stuff before you buy. It's easy to be seduced and India is a culture of very fine and convincing salespersonship… so go with it and enjoy. Yes, you can get better deals elsewhere and yes you could have bargained for better prices… but you're not going to find those prices back home.

I had a couple of suits, a couple of sport coats and seven shirts made. I'm quite happy… it's not Savile Row tailoring or fabrics, but it fits and looks fine. And I had time and, so, that's that. No regrets.

Being "scammed" occasionally is one of the costs of being a tourist. Don't fight it!
