The Avenue Coffeehouse

Big, big fan of The Avenue Coffeehouse! A couple things that they absolutely nailed: atmosphere (lighting, music, artwork, overall vibe), restrooms (unisex with changing table for infants - key access only), seating (multiple spaces for a varying experience), and of course, the coffee (delicious and quick service)!

There’s a lot to love about this space and the team managing it. The windows open up to College Ave but there are a few smaller seating areas that offer a quiet space to connect or just enjoy the music or a good book. The team was very welcoming and excited as we asked about their favorite drinks.

We had an infant with us so we’re always cautious with where we spend time just in case of an outburst - but we were so pleasantly surprised to see the team welcome us with open arms AND have the clean and spacious bathroom functionality for a quick change.

Bonus stars for the team! We will be back soon.

Very nice coffee spot! The staff is very friendly, food and coffee are amazing also! Great place to get work done, work meetings or just hanging out!

Very friendly staff and delicious food. I’ve been here for breakfast and for lunch. The chicken salad croissant is my favorite bite I’ve had here so far. Great quick lunch option. The Jazzy Toast is my go to for breakfast.

Beautiful space, warm and communal hospitality serving coffee roasted by Metropolis (Chicago, IL) with options for everyone! The seasonally-flavored latte was delicious, as might be expected, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the single-origin pourover option (honey processed Honduran, Puerto Cortes, on Kalita). Definitely keep this place in mind if you're in the area!

This is my first time at The Avenue Coffeehouse in Broad Ripple (Indianapolis, IN). It's a beautiful space with excellent coffee and tasty pastries. Also, 100% of the profits from the coffeehouse are donated to The Avenue Foundation that was founded to build racial and economic equity, and empower the Black community in Central Indiana to create and sustain generational wealth. Great mission and great coffee. Visit them soon!

Excellent coffee. The Avenue Latte is a favorite (try the Coltrane on the cozy menu in winter). You can’t get coffee like this anywhere else! A great place to meet up with a friend or bring the computer to get work done. Staff are warm and hospitable. The coffeehouse exists to support the vision of The Avenue Foundation. Everything about this little gem is done well with attention to creating a space of black culture.

Update: went there for breakfast with a friend today. She loved it as well! Love love love the vibes, mu. I had a lovely chat with the owner about how he started the business. Highly recommend the Madame Walker.
