Very lovely garden, with several flowerbeds, trees, fountains, benches and a belvedere with wonderful panoramic views.

To go to the Bom Jesus staircase and not continue to tour the gardens is missing half of the charm this whole place provides. The garden is a continuation of the religious mediation that started at the bottom of the staircase. Behind the church there is a man-made cave and, following the water source one sees a string of fountains of different designs as one climbs the little hill behind, and along the way finds a pond and row boats in it. There are 4 more chapels at the top, each telling an episode of Christ's passion with life-size sculptures. And the view of the valley below with the city of Braga is fantastic.

It was super nice experience, all this area is perfect to spend a hole day on weekends. A lot of families are having picnic and resting in the gardens. You also have a couple of restaurants if you like it.

Bring some water with you, there are some fountains where you can fill your bottle.

Walk around the park and get lost. Very nice experience!

It's a great green place and one of the must see locations in Braga at any time of the year. Try the water elevator (every 30 minutes on weekends and high season) to go up and after exploring the area, walk down the stairs. Be advised that since 2016 the access if you arrive by car is paid.
