I've been a big city dweller for a LONG time. This spot along the river has been my solace, my comfort and my little piece of nature. That I can go to at any time, it's a short distance from my home. I've been going for many years here to feel closer to my source, Mother-Nature. It's comforting to be near the river, if one wants adventure walk, trek on some less used dirt trails, to get to the sandy shores. There are a few spots along the river in the Big City, where one can commune in solitude in nature, along the majestic mighty Mississippi! My little slice of nature heaven, in my great city of Minneapolis
Love this trail, have done it a million times. Very wide and great views.
For several miles of the trail that I walked, you don’t have a view of the water. It’s heavily wooded and there aren’t many people around, which I was a little uncomfortable with.
Beautiful scene
This park is awesome! There are really cool walking paths with bridges down by the river, as well as a playground, large shady grassy area with picnic tables and charcoal barbecues. There are restrooms available but they're port-a-potties. The parking lot is a pay lot but it's decent in size. I feel like this is a really "well balanced" park with stuff to do for everyone. I can't wait to go back!
Great escape to nature! Great river and nature views. A paved trail skirts along the top some smaller official dirt and gravel trails wander directly below. All bridges and staircase are well-maintained! A little bit of trash floating in a river inlet but overall very clean walkway. Was moderately busy when I went on the 4th of July, passing one person every 3 minutes or so.
Nice place in NE to casually walk or go for a run. Good amount of people are out walking, but never enough to crowd the walk ways!
