It’s basically just a statue of a farmer holding a rifle and a lady in kebaya. This is a hot spot for jobless and poor people to do demonstration. If you’re planning to visit this place, 5 minutes is way more than enough to take photos. Nothing of value would be missing if you skip this place.

The Heroes Monument (Indonesian Patung Pahlawan), popularly known as Tugu Tani is a bronze statue and important landmark located in Jakarta, Indonesia. The monument celebrates the heroes of the struggles of the Indonesian nation symbolized by a peasant youth wearing a caping with a rifle on his shoulder, a mother behind him offering him a dish of rice. The caping is a traditional farmer's hat in Indonesia, thus the statue is also referred as the Farmer's Monument (Patung Pak Tani or Tugu Tani).

Grew up in Central Jakarta we sold our family house once they built Acacia Hotel and moved to Depok Kampong Glam .. Today I myself had moved back to the Central 300 metres from Tugu Tani.
One of the statue in Central Jakarta. It's surrounded by important government building and hotel. I love the garden that is so beautiful because of well maintenance. I am interested in police station also so it can be really helpful for traffic and if there is crime or accident.

This is actually a Monument of Hero, but locals calls it The Peasant Statue. Made by Russian artists, Matvey Manizer and Ossip Manizer. The monument was a grateful thanks from President Soekarno to the Indonesian Peasants.
A small bronze statue of a peasant and his mother in the heart of Jakarta. It resembles the prosperity of the country’s farmland

It's a statue in the middle of a busy road. No need to actually stop at the location. The garden around this statue is surprisingly well-kept and beautiful, unlike the bus station I took this picture from. Priorities, I guess.
