The food quality is just okay. The sausages they served looked weird…my friend asked did someone have a bite of each lol
If you are looking for a quality brunch, I will not suggest this place unfortunately.

Atmosphere and decor was lovely. Loved the touch of lit candles in the dining space.
Can be a bit on the louder side when the dining room was fully seated.
I ordered the flat iron steak frites. The fries were wonderful but the steak was underwhelming.
My friends ordered the duck breast and the coq au vin, the duck breast was definitely a hit.
The cab sauv on their wine list was to our liking. For dessert the creme brulee and the mixed berry clafoutis was fantastic.

Beautiful decor in an old mansion, decent food and adequate wine list, with a long list of "But"s.
The tables sitting 4 people are minuscule, making the whole setting feel slightly cramped.
For an O&B establishment, the service was highly disorganized with a succession of waiters coming and going, without taking the time to help us settle in. We still don't know who was the server assigned to our table.
I observed a table of 2 in front of me with a couple trying to decide on a white wine, first one server with 2 bottles on hand, discussing, then going back. A second server came around followed by a lady seemingly acting as sommelier, all unsuccessful. Finally, pony-tailed Brian (the only waiter ultimately giving us good vibes and good service) came to the rescue, spending 20 min helping them settle on a wine. That episode alone took a full hour.
I noticed all other waiters, before going to take orders, frantically tapping their tablet that often (always?) appeared unresponsive: WHY insisting in having waiters hold their tablet when taking orders is beyond me, we've done w/o them for centuries.
The food was good, I especially liked the small quail egg in its shell to mix in my steak tartare.
Ultimately, going back is a big ❓⁉️🤔

Lovely restaurant and ambiance. The place is very classy and serves great photos.

However, the food is mediocre at best and does not make you want to come back for more. Especially given the prices, overall not worth it unless you want cute photos.

I came to Maison Selby for my anniversary with my girlfriend. I requested a nice table and mentioned the occasion.

Pros:
The staff did an excellent job accommodating my request and checked to see if I was happy about the table, left a small card wishing us a happy anniversary and were very professional. While service was not the fastest, all members of staff were friendly and our waiter was a good conversationalist. The food was very good, I think it is quite worth the price. The coq au vin was very tender and the reduction was flavourful without being overly salty. The accompanying sides (buttered beans and fries) were delicious and well seasoned. The mussels were also done very nicely but it would have been nice to have a dish for the shells to be discarded of. Scallops were cooked well but would prefer two scallops. We received 1.5 in a shell with a puff pastry topping. The best dish was the squash which was stuffed with a delicious grain filling and was fruity and nutty.

Cons:
Cocktails are overpriced and not as tasty. We tried a lavender gin cocktail (very floral but a little flat and not very complex), and a peach vodka cocktail (delicious white peach aftertaste but a strong alcohol flavour. Would prefer more sweetness in a fruity drink).
This was not the fault of the restaurant but other diners were not very respectful of the other guests. A group of very loud international students came in and constantly took photos with flash and used a very bright UV light on their painted nails. Was not happy about the obnoxious behaviour and while a staff member asked them to stop using flash, the loudness and excessive photo-taking continued. They kept moving around the table to take photos of each other and I was not happy to be included in them as well as the lights keep shining in my eyes. Since this is not really the fault of the restaurant, it did not affect my rating too much but I think they should have been asked to be a bit more respectful of other diners.

Overall, an excellent dining experience and I will visit again to try brunch or the speakeasy on the lower floor.

I visited Maison Selby for brunch and it is a great place to go to for the vibes & aesthetic. The food was delicious but you’re there more for the experience and I tend to leave brunch really full which wasn’t the case here. I tried the Crepe Madame which was delicious & a pineapple mimosa. This house turned restaurant is really cute though and the service was incredible! Our server was checking in & the food came out super quick. Still definitely worth checking out!
