The Golf Club at Longwood

I am very disappointed with the way the administration of this facility has handled my situation. I am a committed member of the Cypress community. I work, live, and support local businesses in the Cypress community. On January 11, 2023 I bid at an auction hosted by the Cy-Fair HS Orchestra for a round of golf for 4 people. I won the auction and paid $100 in exchange for a gift card valid from January 11, 2023 through January 11, 2024. Because I am a school teacher, I decided to use my gift card in May of 2023 (the gift card had not yet expired). I contacted the golf club through their website twice and never got a response from anyone. I then called the number on the website and spoke to a gentleman, and he informed me that the golf course was being remodeled and to call back in November. I called back in November of 2023 and a voice message said that the golf course would reopen hopefully by the end of November 2023 or December 2023. I called again in December so that I could book a tee time and was told the golf course still wasn't opened and to call back in the spring. Now by this point the gift card had expired but I was told that they would extend the time since the golf course had been closed for remodeling. We called again in March of 2024 and were told that the golf course was only open for members and it would open to the public in June 2024. We then called in June and were told that it was still only open to members and that they didn't understand why someone would offer a gift card if the golf course was closed for remodeling. We spoke to Tony and emailed him a copy of the gift card. His response was "Unfortunately the certificate expired on 11th of Jan 2024. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused." We were BAFFLED at his response as we had thoroughly explained in our email all of our communications with the golf course. We have now contacted the general manager, Tim, who was very rude and condescending. He said he'd contact us, but that was two days ago, and we're still waiting. I have lost hope that we will be able to enjoy the gift certificate. It doesn't hurt me or my pocket to have paid $100 because it went towards a fundraiser for Cy-Fair's HS orchestra. What really bothers me is that the golf course has not honored their side of the deal. If you aren't going to honor a contribution you're making to a school, then don't offer it. My impression of the administration of the golf course is that they don't care to support their local community nor are they willing to help us with the situation. We fulfilled our end of the deal. It wasn't in our control that the golf course has been under remodel for almost the whole time of the dates on our gift certificate. We initiated communication multiple times and we either didn't get a response, were told to call back, or were dismissed with an attitude. It is very sad that there are businesses out there that don't honor their word.

I was pleasantly surprised by how they took old holes and created new holes to make a fair but challenging new course. The greens are even better than what they were before. The course is more open because of cutting trees down but they have replaced them with more water and strategically placed sand traps. This is now a private course so you will have to either join or play with a member.

The course post reopening is quite impressive.

Great layout. Carts could be in better condition but it’s a public golf course. The greens are above average and overall condition seems to get better each time I play. Majority of holes are tree lined and always a fun round.

As of March 2021 this is a fun course. The greens are currently horrendous. So bad they are giving a discount. That being said. Golf is always a blast and this is a unique and interesting course. This is three nine hole courses.

I don't golf, but daddy is a mean caddy...I know a guy. Pretty course, very nice.
