We were gifted this dining experience from friends. If I had have paid for this myself I would have cried! The staff were extremely lovely but the food was extremely disappointing. We've been to plant based fine dining before (interstate) and blown away.... but here the food was flavourless and somectextures unpleasant. I asked for salt at one point hoping it would help but soon realised the meals we generally salty enough just not much other taste. Some flavours confused us and some were not even that enjoyable. I think out of about 8 dishes, I was only able to say I was happy with one! One of the staff knew we weren't happy with one of the dishes but neither staff queried at any other point in time. Sorry team, improvements are needed :(

We have been to Allegra a couple of times now and will absolutely be back again. Every dish is delicious and many of them are things that I've never had anywhere else. Each dish is quite small, but we have always been full at the end of the meal. Service is also lovely and the atmosphere is very welcoming.

I’m amazed at the 4/5 star reviews as my experience was far from it. I booked this place for a birthday dinner after reading the reviews and articles. As soon as we entered the first level, it seemed like we walked into someone’s home with tables and chairs set up haphazardly. Not something I would expect from a fine dining establishment. I let my disappointment slide and hoped the food will negate the poor ambience. Alas, that was another disappointment waiting to happen. Barring some, the flavours of most dishes were either bland, too salty or just plain undercooked. The tofu with rice and peanut satay sauce was nothing unexceptional and a dish you’ll find at almost every asian restaurant. Standout dishes were the charred watermelon and the pavlova where use of culinary creativity and amalgamation of flavours was showcased. The quantity of the food served left a lot to be desired. Definitely not enough to make you full. I went with a lot of expectation and that was my downfall.

The most disappointing meal I've had in a long time, maybe ever. Firstly, I'd like to say that the service was great, no complaints there; unfortunately, that's where the positive comments end. This place markets itself as a high-end degustation of seasonal, local, creative, plant-based dishes, at a set menu price of $135 per head. For that price the food should be sticking in your head for a while, this will but not for the right reasons. The food was bland, boring, borderline pub food, cooked not by a chef but a kitchen hand, probably. Also, they forgot to bring out a dish. I was going to mention it, but to be honest, it probably saved us additional pain. This place feels like a scam. I speculate that the restaurant below them (Ettica Pizzeria) owns it, and they are making use of the first floor but don’t know how to do fine dining. The people giving this place 5 stars must have brain injuries. Don’t go, would give zero stars if possible. The photo btw is what they call orecchiette.

A wonderful fine dining experience. Perfect for a special occasion. An amazing degustation menu that leaves you very full and experiencing some wonderful flavours.
Staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is perfect. A great way to showcase vegan food.

A journey that satisfies every human sense.
Each element placed on the table is thought of; from handmade ceramics and resin, to delicate, kind and robust flavours and textures in every mouthful.
Allegra is a place that has your experience at heart. It echoes through an intimate space and unites passion, mindfulness and art, in more ways then imaginable.
Thank you Allegra family.

Every dish was so unique and a favourite had to be the compressed watermelon. We adored the intimate setting and the friendliness of the staff. Looking forward to coming back again.

Amazing plant based dinner at @allegradiningroom! We've finally made, just in time before they go on hiatus in a few weeks. The food was absolutely amazing, even for us non vegetarians/vegans. You should totally try them out before they go on hiatus!

.
Roasted celeriac with bitter orange sauce: main course of the night - really nicely done celeriac. Really loved the orange sauce. Good combination of savoury and tangy sweetness.

Kale with almond and garlic sauce: really loved the crispy kale 😍😍.
.
Tiramisu: mascarpone, mandarin sorbetto: this was so delicious that we literally devoured it within like 10 seconds 😅😅. The tangy-ness from the mandarin sorbetto worked really well with the sweetness of the rest of the dessert.
