Ossining Public Library

Absolutely fantastic library. Second floor has ample reading chairs with fantastic large windows, from which you can see some of the surrounding town and portions of the Hudson River. Excellent reading and writing tables as well, complete with nice lamps and functional outlets; overhead lighting very pleasant and easy to read with.

Stacks themselves are full of interesting books (non-fiction occupies entire 2nd floor, fiction the top 3rd). Abundance of hand sanitizer bottles and tissues, which were a nice touch. Appears to be plenty of great programming by the librarians, and unique media including video games, book club collections, and a much better display of museum passes than you usually see.

Good usage of artwork and display cases, including some interesting local history information and photography that provides usually absent context about the public library. The people of Ossining have a terrific library!

The staff is complacent regarding all concerns of all patrons they just say what ever so it’s clear they just want the money not nothing else

It is one of the best libraries in the area. It's bright and clean. Many free events are offered and tons of space. One critic is that they should be more strict on noise control as some kids will disterb the peaceful goers. Great spot to do work or just to read.

Best place to go for many things. If you wanna bring your kids? They have amazing people to tutor them. Events that are engaging? Ask the front desk for information and they give you the full layout. You can even eat in the Cafe downstairs. I highly suggest coming here for, not only books but a great day of seeing what Ossining has to offer!

I’ve been using this library for years.. like almost 40! HUGE selection and gorgeous building makes it a go-to! There are comfy seats to read in a pleasant quiet , large environment. All of the staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. Never a scowling librarian here! Thank you for being awesome to everyone human of all ages !

Has a calendar full activities which create and encourage community.

Just to mention some notable ones; they present wonderful art exhibits from local artists. The Mahjong Tournament Day is held on Tuesdays for intermediate and advanced players.

The Library also offers free of charge language classes and much more... 📚
