i absolutely love the course. all the golf you desire @ 7300+ yards. nice lil shot selection needs to be made throughout. Also has some elevation changes in Houston which is pretty rare.
Only negative I have with the course is how easy it is to lose equipment here. Once I tossed a hybrid range finder to cart after taking distance. missed the seat and it went under cart. hit my tee shot and drove off forgetting it was under cart. tee off on hole 4 next hole only realize I left it on ground. Went back to hole 3 to get it. As I drove up to the green another 2some was arriving. feeling relieved I asked hey you guys see a range finder on ground at tee box. both replied no. strange, I ride back to tee box and it's not on ground. i go back to hole 2 to see if by chance someone got it and decided to turn around to avoid me. no dice. returned to 2 some asked again. One guy in particular was acting very nervous and weird . he actually was looking guilty as I first drove up. We had a small exchange. so I chalked it up. Another time I dropped. a wedge on the 13 green. i see a person come to green as I'm on 14 tee hitting my shot. i play 14 par 3. Beging to tee off on 15 waiting on the person to catch up thinking he'll hand over the club.
Well wouldn't you know after I hit my tee shot. i looked back and he disappeared. I rode back to find him he was gone. rode to Green to look for club. it's gone. Frustrated as heck I finish round. Ask if someone by chance returned it

i decide to back track the course to find this kid. well it did but when he saw me coming up he tried to avoid me by driving in the fairway from the tee box. i cut over pulled up and wouldn't you know it. darndest thing my wedge was in his bag.
this is a well to do area and it wild how they do not return your property in your face! Be careful not to be normal and leave your things behind on tee boxes or greens. they will not be returned even if the person can visibly see you in front of them!

I recently hosted an event and attended two others at Sterling Country Club, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The process of booking my event was seamless, thanks to the incredible support of the event director, who made planning an enjoyable experience. The club's amenities are top-notch, with elegant and customizable event rooms, excellent recreational facilities, and well-maintained grounds adding a touch of beauty.

I hosted a formal event on May 4th at Sterling Country Club for my son's couple shower. As mentioned above, this was a formal event, so I upgraded the room to have plenty of space. Sterling Country Club did not offer acceptable table cloths nor napkins, so I had to rent my own. There were several chairs that were torn up and in terrible shape as well. When asked if there were covers available, I was informed that they were $4 dollars a piece. I was only provided a two hour window for set up, which was not an adequate amount of time given the formality of my event. I was forced to use an hour out of my party towards setup which I felt was very unfair for the price I paid, which was over 5k. My guests had to wait for several minutes for food to be replenished and drank out of disposables cups when ordering from the bar. This is not ideal for a formal event. There were no wine glasses provided for the wine. Though I was paying a large tip in my fee for the event, a tip jar was still placed for guests at the bar which I found extremely inappropriate, especially when guests were drinking out of plastic cups!!!
I had a difficult time working with the event coordinator and felt as though I was walking on eggshells throughout our communication. To make matters worse, an envelope with money went missing during my event set up. Due to an inadequate amount of time to clean up, guests had to stay and help me take down the room. I was only given one hour to clean up a formal event or else pay an extra $150.00. My son, who we were doing the shower for, was told by a staff member to sweep the floors and put stuff in a trash bag at one point in the evening. I also felt very nickeled and dime as every request was followed up by an up charge!!! I was allowed to bring my own dessert, BUT I was informed that I would have to supply my own napkins, plates, and silverware. That is beyond ridiculous for a country club with an event space. The overall experience was the worst I've ever had, and renting this country club for a formal event is NOT recommended. I definitely will not be using Sterling Country Club again!!! I did file a complaint with the manager, who also never got back to me.

Held a Baby Shower for about 75 people and everything went smooth. The staff was very helpful and attentive and the food was good too. Sterling Country Club did a great job on our event!
The Gala at the country club was the most fun I’ve had in a long time.. music was so great! The night flowed perfectly and I had so much fun I didn’t even take any pictures! We will be back for the next one!
I was able to attend a wine dinner at this country club on January 19th, and I can say it was a pleasant experience. The club in itself is beautiful and clean. The staff is welcoming and nice. Kaci was able to help direct us to the dinner area and was available for any help the rest of the night. The wine dinner was great in terms of the atmosphere, and the food was extremely delicious which paired greatly with the Daou Vineyards collection. Jeremy was very personable and attentive to ensuring the flow of the event was smooth. The event was fun and I enjoyed the entire night. Overall I had a great time and will plan to attend another event in the future.
Restaurant was very good. Lunch on Saturday had a menu that was half price. Flank steak was delicious. Salad was crisp. Quesadillas were good. Enjoyed the quiet setting and attentive service.
