family friendly garden that has something to look for for eveyone. They have chickens running around and a little waterfall to see for the kids to explore and chairs to sit down and have a break for the eldery or to just to absorb nature. Best to wear proper closed footwear as the some paths do go down and up and maybe slippery. Would be back for more exploring

What an experience! We went for afternoon tea which was lovely, but the environment of these beautiful gardens are an experience you need in your week. If you need a little time out from life or you are visiting Auckland then add this to your list. I’m a local literally around the corner and cannot believe I hadn’t previously been to these gardens. I always meant to visit but maybe I had subconsciously put it off because it’s a memorial garden. Instead of a heavy feeling I found that there was a peaceful vibe and really restorative. I’m actually going to buy a membership because this place is a little oasis with an amazing garden that reminded me of my childhood and the cafe makes the nicest cinnamon buns (also a childhood memory). Great quiet place to sit, sketch and breathe

Beautiful gardens and scenery. The cafe inside is great. The cinnamon scroll and carrot cake are really moist and delicious and they make really nice hot drinks. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Beautiful oasis of green and birdsong in the midst of the city. What a great way to use the steep edge of a maunga, creating a place that visitors can enjoy. Lots of work has gone into the garden - it's really well maintained, safe well signposted paths, and a yummy cafe.

Beautiful, well maintained gardens. Plenty of benches to sit admire all the many varieties of plants, etc from different angles. Also, it is very pleasant watching all the different birds enjoying the peace and quiet in the gardens.
This has to be our happy place.

A hidden garden under Mt Eden. Several paths surrounded by different trees and plants. Many memorial benches for rest and enjoying the view. Total walk around one hour. There is a cafe inside the garden.

Not far off Motorway ( State Highway 1 ) and Gillies Ave. Parking free but can be busy on weekends, small gift shop and separate standard alone cafe with
Indoor and outdoor seating.
It's an absolutely magical place as its in an old quarry on the eastern slope of Mount Eden and protected from the cold South Westerly winds during Winter. There is every type of 🌳 Trees
And Flowering 💐 plants one could imagine. I do recommend a visit.
