Located near RK beach, this place generally is included in ‘places to visit in Vizag’ list. There is no dedicated parking space, need to find a roadside parking. Entry ticket is 10 rs for adults and 05 rs for children. The museum has got two parts - a naval maritime museum and another museum is Visakhapatnam district museum. Photography is prohibited, so couldn’t capture the display which is inside the museums. The maritime museum is worth visit where you’ll be able to go through rich naval history of Visakhapatnam as well as interesting details of Indian Naval fleet and exhibits, photographs depicting Naval warfare. The other part of the museum is disappointing. Although the three storied museum dedicates itself to bring out rich cultural heritage of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana, but it is poorly maintained. Lack of guide and improper display of artefacts also fail to generate curiosity amongst visitors. Personally felt that the staffs are pretty less aware of the the exhibits and their historical value. Overall verdict- good for only one time visit if you get some extra time in Vizag itinerary.

I loved this place. So rich. You can spend at least half a day looking at the antiques. I can tell you,it's the best place and a must visit in Vizag. The place outside is also interesting, not only inside the museum.

It showcases the rich history, culture, and heritage of the city. You can explore various exhibits, artifacts, and photographs that provide insights into Vizag's past. It's a great place to learn and appreciate the local history. If you're interested in museums, I would definitely recommend checking out the Visakha Museum!

Visakha Museum consists of several blocks; one for maritime history, one for art and culture and one for human civilization. The displays in all the categories are very interesting and the collection is also varied.
A place to see all naval history, small warships, submarines, missiles used during naval warfare, flags used to communicate between two ships. Along with this there is another building which has the history of Vizag. Ancient coins, corals, various guns and swords are preserved here. Also there are palanquins, armor of kings, old wall clocks etc. Special attraction is the longest 2 km long flag preserved here.
In short it is a good place to observe our history. Entry ticket is Rs 10 for adults and Rs 5 for children. Friday is a holiday. Timings Monday to Thursday: 11 am to 7 pm. It is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 pm to 8 pm.
