Lots of parking when I arrived which was early at 10:30 am on a weekday. Plenty of space for everyone. Nice location with great waves

Went for a bike ride - mostly on the bay side. It was fun, trail was nice, view beautiful. On the boardwalk for a short time - lot of people but nice. We will do it again. Grabbed a quick bite at the Catamaran. Very good.

Clean and kept location. Right next to Belmont Park that has rides, games and food/souvenir/merchandise. A great place to lay out around the sand or walk on a paved pathway along side the beach to soak off the sun.

Nice and safe parking even for overnighter with lots of lighting and ample space in between cars. The beach is also clean and groomed.

cool place to walk along the beach. If you want to go in the water the beach has great sand. There is some shops and food on the beach and a lot of people.

**Location**: Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay, Mission Beach is a vibrant community within the city of San Diego, California. Its nearly two miles of oceanfront make it a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike.

**Classic Boardwalk Vibes**:
Mission Beach channels the spirit of a classic boardwalk beach town. Here's what you'll find:

1. **Belmont Park**: The heart of Mission Beach, Belmont Park is home to the iconic **Giant Dipper Roller Coaster** (originally built in 1925 and lovingly restored), the **Beach House Grill**, miniature golf, bumper cars, rock climbing, and an arcade. It's a nostalgic playground for all ages.

2. **Oceanfront Boardwalk**: Stroll along the lively boardwalk, rent bikes, and soak in the sun. The ocean breeze and the sound of crashing waves create the perfect soundtrack.

3. **20-Something Scene**: Mission Beach attracts the young and the young at heart. Bars dot the area, promising a lively nightlife. But fear not—there's something for families too!

4. **Activities Galore**:
- **Surfing and Boogie Boarding**: Catch a wave or two.
- **Beach Volleyball**: Join a game or watch the pros.
- **Whale Watching**: Keep your eyes peeled for marine visitors.
- **Sport Fishing**: Cast your line off the jetty.
- **Scuba Diving**: Explore underwater wonders.

5. **Mission Bay**: Just a short walk across the main thoroughfare, Mission Bay offers calm waters, grassy parks, playgrounds, and picnic spots. Rent a sailboat, pedal around on a bayside bike, or simply enjoy the serene oasis.

**South Mission Beach**: For a quieter vibe, head south. The beach widens, providing ample space for relaxation and beach volleyball. At South Mission Beach Park, try your luck fishing off the jetty or explore the underwater shipwrecks that create an artificial reef.

**Parking**: Finding street parking can be tricky, so consider taking the bus or biking. There are free Public lots near Belmont Park, Santa Clara Point, and South Mission Beach Park offer better odds.

**Lifeguards, Bathrooms, and Showers**: Rest assured, lifeguard stations and bathrooms are conveniently scattered along the beach.

Five stars for the nostalgia, the salty air, and the endless ocean views. 🏖️🌊🎢

One of the best / cleanest beaches we found in San Diego. Loved it. Great boardwalk further down from where we sat with shops and food too.
