Great place to get pasta in the city. Great location, the ambiance is very nice with brick walls, and soft lighting. Anyone with 4-6 people will likely be in a booth.
We both loved our pastas, although we left just a little bit hungry. So good portions considering we came into the restaurant famished. It took a while for the server to get our check, otherwise it was a great experience.

Had a great dinner at 107 State last night. We started off with cocktails and my espresso martini was delicious. Perfect.

Appetizer was a blistered tomato crostini with burrata and was lovely. Layered flavor, with the creaminess of burrata and nice crunch of crostini.

We shared a pasta dish with a veal ragu, and it was EVERYTHING. Nuanced flavors and the veal was very tender.

We had a second cocktail and my dirty martini was exactly as ordered.

Would definitely recommend for thoughtful Italian, to get your burger fix, or just to have a nice craft cocktail!

Recommend this place. We sat outside on a lovely summer day, the cocktails were amazing and the waiter was very personable and helpful. I only peeked inside briefly when we arrived, but it looked like a cool vibe. Great location on State St too

Really a must try. I wish I could tell you we tried more items on the menu because I suspect they are all amazing. Unfortunately my bestie and I ordered the same exact dish, however we agreed it was sinfully delicious. We started with cocktails which did not disappoint, I the Cosmo and her a Bellini. We each ordered the pork chop which was served over a bed of pillowy , al dente pappardelle with grated pecorino. If these noodles are not fresh in house I would be surprised. On top a hearty porkchop seasoned with a peppery season blend that complemented the pecorino cheese. The chops were perfectly cooked and each bite seemed to melt in your mouth. Hands down the best pork chop I’ve had. Wait staff was attentive but not intrusive. Right off the Capital and great vibe. I would go out of my way to eat here again.

Had a great time here this past weekend. Really cool little spot for a quiet dinner and drinks. We enjoyed ‘The Derby’ very much, and the Ziti was short rib rags was fantastic! Server was very sweet and attentive as well. Great low-key elegance.

Came here recently for dinner and really enjoyed our time. We started off with an order of shrimp crostinis which were a big hit for both of us. Compliments for getting the cook on the crostini and shrimp just right. I had the mushroom pappardelle that packed a ton of bold flavors, plenty of mushrooms, and lots of garlic which I especially enjoyed. My wife ordered the NY strip that came with a ton of fries. Steak was cooked exactly to order, seasoned well, and as others have noted, while the frites look like McDonald’s fries, they contain way more flavor and were another highlight among other things in our meal.

Also, bonus points to the bartender on duty (5/10/24) who was one of the friendliest bartenders we’ve ever come across. Not only did she greet us promptly and take our drink orders while we waited for our table to be ready, our drinks were phenomenal! Probably the best Manhattan I’ve had in Madison. The atmosphere was also vibrant but cozy which was a pleasant surprise. We’ll definitely be back!

I like this downtown restaurant. On State St, about a block from the Capitol Square. I loved the dark atmosphere. Cool jazz music playing. Besides not being very loud in there, the booths help make it easy to have a conversation. The rough brick wall also helps to break up any noise.
Our server was very friendly and the timing of her check-ins was good.
First off, I liked the bread. Besides being complementary, each piece was crunchy on one side and warm & buttery on the other. The roasted mushroom crostini was a great way to start the meals. It was crunchy chewy, with the expected sweetness from the cheese and glaze.
My salmon crunchy outside and soft moist inside. The garlic lemon sauce was a great added flavor. The shrimp scampi also tasted great, although a bit too heavy on the garlic. The Bliss Burger was a tasty burger dripping with juicy goodness. The accompanying fries tasted just McDonald's fries, but a little less salty. The meat in the Ziti with Ragu was a nice combo of hearty meat with soft tender tasty ziti.
The waitress passed by with plates of desserts that looked real good, but we were just too full. ....Next time.
Overall, I really liked this upscale city tavern.
