Not a great overall experience, the food is very overpriced for being mediocre at best. The poutine was not good at all, no salt on the fires, bland gravy, and room temp, non-squeaky cheese curds. The burger wasnt much better, it had no taste to it at all. The hotdog felt almost rubbery and the bun was stale. I will say that the service was quite good, though this places name is very misleading as theres no restaurant service, just cashiers like every other fast food place. There was also no atmosphere at all, not even music playing, which is unfortunate given the prime location they have. The whole restaurant could use a bit of a makeover with some theming. Also there are several things at this restaurant that are closed on weekdays so make sure you check what's open on the day you go.

Generic overpriced cafeteria food that'd be comparable to any common takeout counter you'd find at any minor league sports venue. The service is slow and lackadaisical, though understandable considering most of the workers are summer hired teenagers and the large volume of customers they serve daily. Portion sizes are not worth what you pay, and since some of these restaurants are contracted, I'm not sure how much of the money actually goes back to the zoo. If you purchase anything alcoholic, be prepared to wait even longer, as it appears only the manager has access to that particular fridge. Overall, if you're able to carry it, I'd recommend packing your own picnic, there's plenty of places to sit down and eat all over the zoo.

Food was rather pricey - a little bit more than you would spend at a fast food joint - but it was delicious and offered an awesome variety of meat/chicken/vegetarian. Fairly long wait in line during peak times but worth it!

The food isn't that great it is basic fast food. They cannot make substitutions. I asked for a plain burger and got all the sauces and condiments anyway. Almost 60 dollars to feed 3 people which is somewhat understandable with it being in the zoo. The only thing African about it was the fact it was in the African part of the zoo. Not impressed but when your at the zoo you expect the mark up. My advice is being your own food.

Ordered poutine, burger, tenders. We ate none of it. It was terrible. Poutine was soggy. Burger was tiny dry and flavorless, chicken tenders were barely cooked, no crunch to the breading. Not worth the premium price.

As much as I can appreciate that there's a lot of people, I must say that the service is pretty slow. The food is literally ready but it takes forever to place on the trays and get the orders moving. The holdback is unexplainable...
Not to say that for two slices of pizza and two bottles of water it cost $22...what's going on people.
That somewhat explains the 2.9 average rating that the Toronto Zoo has.

In the wintertime, this is the only food option available besides Tim Horton's at the entrance. Burgers are done fresh but fries are small. Quite expensive markup at the zoo unfortunately. Still, a nice clean place to stop at and be warm during winter visits. In the summertime there are more restaurants open in the middle of the African Savannah as well as by the polar bears.
