Staten Island Care Center

I was there solely for short term physical therapy. I volunteered because of a wonderful RN at RUMC where I had the hip replacement surgery. I mentioned it to a good friend of mine that I was going to choose a place and she called a friend/co worker whom is in admissions for Staten Island care center. Within minutes Ana appeared in my hospital room on a holiday weekend coming and got the ball rolling and bam I was transported next day to facilty. She was easy to talk and very professional and made sure I was well taken care of. She even gave me her cell number and insisted I call anytime any day if I needed anything. She got me dunkin coffee and dinner a couple times. If I had a problem she did everything to solve it. I adore her and many many of the staff 5th floor morning crew. Tanya, Tammy, Sheldon, Katina, and so many more that I can't remember their names. And the physical therapy department was outstanding! Thank to Eddie, Junbin, and Stella. Awesomeness 🙌 🙌

Sad to say that like many such facilities I hear about on my job, I have now experienced it for myself. Imagine laying in your own shut for 3 hours, with a family member asking for aide and none coming. Shift change, not my patient, wait til after dinner service. As soon as I'm out of here- if I survive, I will file a formal complaint. And I will never doubt a client who shares similar stories. Fyi- this issue with aides unwilling to do their job cleaning me up and waiting 2 hours has happened several times in the 7 days I've been here. Very sad.

My husband was admitted on April 20, 2023 for rehab while battling Metastatic Prostate Cancer. Being in a place like this is an adjustment, both for the patient and family members. The staff runs around tirelessly making sure everyone is taken care of and every staff member in that building is friendly and helpful. But I have to point out some individuals on the 4th floor that were a golden bunch and they made my husbands stay much more comfortable. Godfrey, just as his name is a God sent soul! This man is the true definition of care taker, I am forever grateful of how you took care of my husband, I will never forget all that you did for him. Riccardo and Ebery were amazing in checking on him making sure he took his meds and caring for him. Irene and Francine, you two rock that floor! You moved mountains in taking care of Stewart up till the very end you both were there. I will never forget this journey.
As for the facility, when people complain about smelling and being dirty, it’s a facility that houses many residents and in my opinion they do the very best to keep it clean. The residents rooms are very clean and they are remolding. The 4th and 5th floors are beautiful! The others will follow.
The most important part of it is care, compassion and empathy and SICC meets those needs.

Irene the nurse is so awesome she goes above and beyond always on top of everything I really appreciate everything you do. I know my mom is difficult sometimes all day and I feel so bad

Facility was neat and clean. All of my concerns were addressed. The staff was accommodating. I was satisfied by knowing that my family member would be cared for.

Well my Bestie, Soul Sister is there for long term care & she is well taken care of. The staff is very friendly & helpful to her & to me when I visit. Even staff that I don't have to interact with is very friendly & go out of their way to make sure I'm alright & of I need help... The building is very clean, the restrooms are clean as well as the grounds! I don't drive so I don't really know about parking but I know I seen parking for everyone, I suppose. Anyhow the staff is knowledgeable & friendly, willing to help visitors & they show respect to the patients as well as the visitors! The most important thing to me is that's the patients care & there are no complaints there & believe me if there were a problem my sister would be raising cane & would let all of her loved one know right away!!

The gentleman at the front security desk is always so kind and polite. He is always so friendly with my daughter and always makes us feel welcome. Also, one of the nurses, Barbara is wonderful. She is always a great help and a pleasure to speak with
