Stopped there for a quick fixer-upper on my road bike. The mechanic stopped what he was doing to check my bike no charge. Very nice and knowledgeable guy. Good to know there is a bike-shop at the bottom of Jay Peak Notch.
This shop is top of the line and has EVERYTHING to offer from buying/renting skis and snowboards, tuning and waxing is top of the line! They have such a great selection of winter gear, biking, hiking and fresh baked pizza in a beautiful wood fire. This is by far my favorite place to go for my sporting needs!
Top notch equipment and service. I had a new Jones and Now bindings for rental which is incredible. Setup was expertly tuned for what turned out to be a fairly technical day on the slopes. If you buying, super knowledgeable staff. They could be a more generous with their oysters...

Came in 15 min before closing and Don was very accomadating on getting my skis tuned. He even let me watch, ask questions and learn some new things. He took meticulous care of my skis and his attention to detail and skills were phenomenal. Will definitely be coming here instead of the mountain shop.
Small but surprisingly well-stocked little shop with an extremely knowledgeable and friendly owner who has been in the Jay scene forever. Don is friendly and helpful with service and local advice, and charges very fair rates for wax & tunes. Definitely recommend the +/- 10 minutes extra drive vs paying premiums at the resort, and you'll feel better spending your money at First Trax as a bonus.
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Horrible customer service, along with overpriced rentals. The guy working was extremely condescending. When asked what came with the rentals, he simply just said everything. At checkout he then said that a helmet rental was an additional $10.00. Not only was his communication skills lacking in the most basic of senses, he was disrespectful towards my personal property because it wasn't exactly where he preferred. If you enjoyed being belittled while spending money, then this is the place for you. If not, I would HIGHLY recommend literally anywhere else.
