Somerset Academy of Music Loveland

My 15 year old son has been going to Jennifer at Somerset Academy of Music for piano lessons for over 6 months now and has really enjoyed the experience! He has learned a lot from her and the instruction has really enhanced his piano/keyboard playing. Being that my son was self taught, we wanted someone that could take him to the next level of playing, which is what she has been doing. Jennifer is also very accommodating with scheduling and we appreciate that!! Highly recommend!!!

I started taking piano lessons as a 50 year old woman who can’t tell my left from my right, typing was one of my worst all time classes and didn’t know how to read music. I love music and had always wanted to be able to play piano. I didn’t think I was capable of learning.

Jenifer told me that she loved trying to figure out how different people’s brains work and then teach accordingly. That got me hooked! I decided to try it. I’m not going to lie, it was really hard. Certain parts of my brain work better than others and it was obvious to me which parts were picking up piano and which parts were lagging behind.

Slowly but surely, I made progress and couldn’t believe I could play the songs from my book! My favorite comment from Jenifer was “I’ve never seen anyone learn like you do. I can’t explain it but I can see it.” Jenifer was so patient, encouraging and was always able to explain something in a different way until it started to click.

I stuck with it for 3 years until I had a change in circumstance. I learned enough to play what I hoped to. Who knows, I might try again in the future!

I would highly recommend Somerset to any age or ability. Jenifer was flexible if I needed to change a lesson time and professional with billing and the running of her studio.

Teaching an old dog new tricks is tough, but Somerset has done a great job with this old 72yr. I started during Covid, and have totally enjoyed working with Jenifer, and have progressed well enough so that my playing a song is recognizable to others !!

My daughter has been taking piano lessons for almost 2 years with Jenifer and our experience has been amazing. She has learned so much in such a short amount of time, it's been impressive to watch. But what I love the most about it is Jenifer's teaching. She is so fun with my daughter - she makes everything fun and enjoyable yet she pushes my daughter to be the best she can. Jenifer teaches her students respect and appreciation of music and of the arts which can be lost these days. I would and have already recommended Jenifer and Somerset to anyone who is looking for piano lessons. You'll learn piano, but more than that you walk away with appreciation of music, with joy and with confidence.

Absolutely amazing teachers with decades of experience. I couldn’t have asked for any better of an experience for my little girl/myself. Im grateful and blessed to have experienced Somerset Academy and the life long friends i have there.
