Incredible location incredible views. I would recommend you make the walk up as it's a great challenge, bring water bottle and shoes with grip as the stone can be a little slippy.
There is a way up with a car or bus for those that cannot make it

It is nice to go and see. Beautiful views but is not worth of money(it's 3.5e). It is not expensive but nothing wow to too see. You can take a beautiful free picture of the pathway if you decide to walk up or go wodn the castle( I highly recommend going up with bus 35 and going down by walk)

Great castle to go visit and cheap as well (advisable to purchase the combined ticket with the Alcazaba).
After entering the castle you are free to walk around, there’s little to none restrictions, you are allowed to climb mostly all stairs and visit the towers and view points.
It looks pretty well maintained.
There’s a free audio guide available with QR code but it’s not really deep. I wish I could have learned a bit more about this place.
Amazing views of the port.

Amazing views of the port.

By far, THE most SPECTACULAR views of Malaga.
360 degree views. Try
To bring Euro to pay for
Entrance because the actual ticket
Machines at entrance are a bit sketchy and the folks working there are not

Great experience. There is a pretty long and steep way up, also slippery, so be careful, but it worth it once you get on top. The view from there is amazing and the fortress itself is pretty amazing also. It does not communicate with Alcazaba, which is right next to it.

Immaculate views of Malaga city, port and surrounding hills. Beautiful walk up, perhaps a bit challenging on a hot day if your aren’t too fit, but absolutely worth it once you reach to summit and get to walk the balustrades.
Entry is €3.50 per person. And there is a bar inside for after your walk 😉

If you don't mind a hike, I'd recommend taking the trip up here. You get great views on the way with plenty of greenery to capture your lens and provide much needed shade.
However, the inside of the Castillo was not worth the long wait in line, as there wasn't much to see inside, aside from a view from the city. I'd recommend going to the one in the city instead, either before making the trek or after.
All photos are from the trek up to the Castillo, and it took around 20 minutes per way. Be careful on the way down as it is very steep.
