Best handmade fishballs in Ipoh. The Teochew style fishballs are made with dried roasted flounder. Only one in Ipoh that does that. They are soft with a gentle bounce. Their Hakka niang tofu are all handmade. So are their sauces. And best thing is their chee cheong fun with all three types of sauces- stewed mushroomwith fu pei, the traditonal sweet sauce and their light curry gravy (which I prefer). And not to mention their solid good coffee. Definitely coming again.

Very comfy environment to enjoy my breakfast, not many stalls and most of it by the owner's noodle stall. Kopi C Kospng is good at RM2.40 (2023), RM2.60 (2024). It's served only warm and with cup not heated but at sightly above market price. Their signature Hor Hee at RM7.50 a bowl and I find the broth a bit too overpowering and a bit too salty. The size of fish cake, fish ball, and Fish Won Ton are pathetically small. Yong Tau Fu with fish paste actually "Yong" in cost RM1.30, and same a bit too small for the price.

Overall, will only come again when there's visitors asking for Hor Hee, me myself will not bother to come.

After browsing the reviews, decided to bring my partner to try the hor hee. The shop is just opposite the historic residence "Falim House" of the late tin mining merchant (Foo Nyit Tse).

At 7am (Sat, Apr'23), cool morning with only less than 10 customers. Ample parking space along the shop front.

We also wanted to try the chee cheong fun but the stall wasn't open. Did not try the Thai stall selling pork knuckles bec the seller was seen smoking at a table behind us, in between preparing the food. Those who served us were pleasant people, and asked for our table number when placing of order at the food stall.

We only ordered a bowl of hor hee and some pieces of the Yong Tau Foo RM16.80. The soup based was a little salty for us, the overall taste wasnt bad, a warming first meal of the day. The small cup of coffee RM2.30 (less sweet) was still quite sweet for us ...lol.

Local crowd started to flow in when we were leaving at 7.30am++.

All the popular stalls such as Nasi Lemak, Braised Duck Meat Mee and Pork Knuckles Mee were already closed when I went there at 11.50am; left with the main stall selling Hor Hi and Yong Tau Fu. While not much varieties left, customers still queued to place orders. Some orders were big and many customers actually Tabao a lot for their colleagues or family members. Today their food were surprisingly good, especially their stuffed items. Like their freshly fried bean curds and stuffed brinjal. Even the simple dry stirred and mixed Hor Fun was delicious; much better than what I had during my last visit many months ago. Could it be because an older cook was at the helm today?
