I was not disappointed, this was amazing experience ever.
The cabins are ok, the beds not comfortable. However, they are spacious...
They have free wood, but they take donations. The facility has a pool which is open during the summer.

I haven't gotten the chance to stay there yet, but making plans to do so. My three sisters and I stopped there today to walk around. As luck would have it, a man who works there asked us if we wanted him to show us around. He had keys to all the buildings and seemed more than happy to give us a tour of the cabins, dining hall, pool, everything! It's my sister's birthday and we were all impressed and extremely happy to go there today. Thanks again to Dwight James, our tour guide for such a great time.

Charming works era cabins for rent, some with electricity, others without. There is no cooking allowed inside, but there is a fire pit outside with a grill top and firewood is provided. You must walk to the bathroom, which also has showers which have hot water! The lower loop has women’s bathrooms. There is a water bucket and firewood bucket provided outside along with a broom and dust pan inside. The beds have antique metal springs with modern plastic covered camp mattresses. There is a ceiling, fan and light in the cabins with electricity, and the windows have very good screens.

Rustic cabins, but extremely clean inside. This is basically tent camping, but with a rustic structure and electricity. Expect bugs.
Cabin 20 is very spacious. Partitioned into two rooms... one with 4 singles and one with 2 singles... two storage cabinets, a ceiling fan and lights. Outlets in both rooms.
Firepit and picnic table outside. Wood provided. It is a short walk to parking lot and longer walk to the restrooms. Updated bathhouse and pool are nice additions.
Hikes take you from campground to other trail systems including Cunningham Falls. This area is wooded and hilly.
Great value for what you get.

Warning about cabin #20....I realize that old cabins get mice and bugs but I just left my cabin and came home with cockroaches. I didn't notice anything on the first night but the second night we saw several mice and noticed a couple cockroaches crawling on the wall right next to the beds. I couldn't take it. Me and my 3 kids cramped into the car for the night and left early this morning. This cabin would have been perfect. Big, firewood, lots of privacy, heated pool, right by the waterfalls and lake, nice staff, but I just couldn't do the critters!! Thought I checked all my baggage on the way out but ended up bringing at least one cockroach back with me. Crossing my fingers that's it. Washing everything now. If they get rid of the infestation this would be a great place. I hope they fix the problem.

Stayed here twice in one week on a road trip up and down the east coast. Amazing cabins with friendly hosts and rangers. Stayed and cabin 18 & 20. Definitely a fun unique place to stay.

Great rustic cabin experience, friendly staff and clean facilities. Complimentary firewood on check-in day, then you can go to the wood-shed for more (suggested $5 donation). Cabins have electric outlets, but a sign on the door tells you not to use them! (perhaps they don't want you to bring heavy duty appliances like space heaters). Cabins are quite close to each other. The upper loop has a dishwashing station which is very helpful. Windows are not drafty. A padlock is provided for the door. The beds could be a bit better (even for a rustic cabin). Very accessible to trails, nearby attractions (Cunningham Falls State Park etc) and restaurants (Thurmont). The heated pool is a hit with kids. Parking can get challenging if you take your car out often in the day, although there is overflow parking available.
