Popped in after a walk around Rivington. Lovely little pub. Staff could not be more friendly or helpful. Food was 5 star cooked from fresh. Will certainly visit again. The bar area is dog friendly too which was perfect for us.

Fantastic food last night at The Yew Tree.

Where else can you go with your dog, dressed in anything from shorts and a t-shirt to trousers shirt and jacket and get top cooking in a casual and friendly countryside setting..?

I never get tired of the views, the setting is amazing and the old building is full of character.

The staff are great, there’s always decent folk in, also often with well behaved dogs in the bar.

The beer is good and local, there’s lots of gin and the choice of whiskies is good.

The new menu is a winner, especially the braised lamb with roasted aubergine, hummus and harissa. It was 10/10 and amazing.

Top tip, have three courses, it’s how the portion sizes are designed. You’ll be hungry if you just have a main and probably a little miffed at what you’ve just spent to not be full up. But have the lot and it’s perfect.

I’m a fussy sod and have pretty high expectations but the place, people, food and drink were excellent thanks to Olivia, George & team.

We all enjoyed our food but I found mine to be the best vegan meal I've had in years.

Lovely location with great views, warm welcome and very good food and service. Perfectly placed for a variety of walks around the reservoir.

We paid an impromptu visit to this country pub and was pleasantly surprised. This charming place exudes warmth and coziness, amplified by its inviting log fire that crackles merrily in the background. The menu at this pub surpassed typical expectations with offerings like venison and guinea fowl. We indulged in a three-course meal and thoroughly enjoyed each dish!

Only one cask ale on today but it’s a cracker brewed locally. Situated in a great location with beer gardens to the front and the side where you can take in the fabulous views. Handy starting / finishing point if you want to walk to the reservoirs.

Popped in for a quick drink and ended up having a little snack.

The service and staff were 10/10.
The place was beautiful and very comfortable and cosy.
Will definitely be back to try the main menu as the king prawns and hummus was delicious.
