The only beach at Bde Maka Ska that was open, was a nice beach for the location.

The lake belongs to native people but I love it

Great beach, with nice view of downtown, but it’s 45° so not a great time to rate and review. It’s metered parking and usually full in rue summer. If you are a sun worshipper you may want to go to the beach on the north end (Thomas is south end), so you can lay out facing the sun.

Located on the south end of Lake Calhoun (or whatever the current woke name of the lake is) this beach not only has great access to the water but also plenty of places to sit and just enjoy the peaceful surroundings. A great view of the Minneapolis skyline adds to the calm vibe by reminding that you are technically still in the city even though it doesn’t feel like it. Lots of recreation options here and around the entire lake!

This is a nice beach with a beautiful view of the downtown Minneapolis skyline over the lake. I regularly enjoy the walking path and separate biking path.
Unfortunately, at least on this Saturday evening, the park was filled with loud competing music, large liquor bottles passed around, random yelling, and marijuana smoke. Couples and families looking for a nice park atmosphere came and promptly left. There was no police presence.

Don’t even waste your time. Go to a different beach around Minneapolis. Water is dirty and gross and I saw a dead body on the beach when I got there today… not great. People were mean and it was way too busy to do anything. Water was full of spent plutonium rods so probably not safe either. Stay away yamll!!

Paved trails, one for walkers only, and another for bikes/scooters. Nice older homes along the trail to look at. Enjoyed watching ppl wind surf also.
