I used to be a fan of this place - but after today, not any more.
The problem seemed to be that they were expecting a coach party in the afternoon. So, they stopped taking lunchtime food orders at 12.55. Yet their own notice at the counter about the famous coach party stated 14.00 as the cut-off time for food orders.
The kitchen staff are clearly rather confused about how to read the time. That, or ordinary paying customers like you and me are just not worthy of their attention. I will spend my money elsewhere in future. Suggest you do the same.

Really nice food & very friendly service
Possibly the worst coffee I've ever had and definitely the worst tea cake. The quiches were not quiches and the chocolate cake below standard. The tea pot for one only just filled the cup and was poor quality. Even the side salad was rubish. No redeeming features. This cafe is stuck firmly in the 70's.
